Only FIGHTER JETS

it depends on what you're flying but i think you have to fall between 5'4"-6'5". It's not only the restrictions of the cockpit, but how g forces affect your body and the type of ejection seat.

yes there is a height limit for the australian air force, so i am assuming there would be one for the us/wherever youre from

it has something to do with the ejection seats.

its not all that high, as long as youre not a midget you should be good

these are my favorite, actually i dont really know anything about any other plane at all. my dad works for a company that engineers the simulators for them and some drones or something.

I used to drive by the US Mothball Fleet every day on my way to Work. I saw the Iowa on the regular before they towed it off to LA or wherever. No Big Deal.

Blue Angels "dirty loop" (flaps, gear, and landing hook all down, as in "dirty" aerodynamics)

There are height and weight limits that the ejection seat manufacturer sets. They aren't very extreme though, the seat I'm using now only requires that you weigh 123 lbs with all your gear on. So you'd have to be about 90 lbs naked to miss that.

well idk if you were saying it indirectly, but hitler did not create that, german scientists and an american scientists mashed their ideas together, but they did not have each others approval to do it.

rudder testing...full to starboard! bad. ass.

Carriers can do 35+ knots, which is unbelievable. That is so fucking fast for a ship like that.

here is a picture that i took of a carrier about 4 miles away from us near the mouth to the juna de fuca strait. i would have had no idea it was a carrier if they didn't come on our radio saying to keep 3 miles away from them.

The P-51 Mustang is without a doubt the coolest plane out there. Its been my favorite plane since I was a little kid. Now if only I could get in the cockpit of one someday, that'd be my dream come true! The US military should honestly deploy the Mustang in to combat as a close air support kind of plane. Can you imagine the Taliban shitting their pants when they hear on of those things roaring their way... Pretty sure it'd still get the job done as well.

This is pretty much just military porn, right? ok.

They weren't exactly cost effective or invincible, but damn did they look awesome.

Nice warship...and yes, most certainly war porn. I've seen no objections...I think it's nice for everyone to see the sharp end of the freedom stick. and I think the above A-10 youtube description is inaccurate, they are not depleted uranium armor-piercing rounds, I think they are the high explosive rounds hence all the bursts and flak flying around. Closed casket funerals for those taliban motherfuckers.

just gonna keep this goin with some ww2 related footie cuz it's d-day:

pretty sick at the end of this vid....so many damn brits:

the first shot of this is really impressive....goes to show how fucking powerful rockets are:

When I was in Powell, this jet (I think) came down and flew between the canyon walls. Not positive that it was this one, but wither way, it was cool s fuck.

And here's some crazy Russian testing......

Yes, any plane with an ejection seat has some sort of height and weight limit. They differ from jet to jet.

My assignment night is tomorrow at 7pm. Nervous, excited, everything all in one. Some of my bros will probably get pretty crappy drops since they struggled so I'm worried about that too....

My top 5 in order are:

F-16

F-22

F-15E

A-10

F-15C

Wish all of us luck and I'll try to become the first NS fighter pilot! (as far as I know...)

Good luck!

I'm aware of at least 1 person though, who probably wasn't actually a member, but did visit NS and flies f-22s now.

based on what I've heard from the other AF pilot I'm vaguely familiar with...

There are more f-16s, and it's already proven whereas the f-22 has had some problems since it's introduction.

Though I remember hearing that in order to train for the f-22, you must become rated on the f-16 just for the instruction, as there is no 2 seat version of the f-22.

22s and 35s still have LOTS of issues, particularly the 35.

On the 35 instead of relying on a simple tanked oxygen supply, they designed a new system that generates oxygen using part of the engine systems. Basically it did not work and one pilot died and others nearly did. It appeared as if the DOD, to appease Lockheed, shoved the problem to the side for a long time.

Lockheed forgot to program the computer, which controls everything in the 22, for crossing the international date line. Systems crashed and they lost all systems: Fuel, nav, weather, etc.

I too would stick with an older, but tried and true, airframe.

Every new plane has had issues, everyone acts like the 5th generation fighters are different in that aspect but it's simply more noticeable because they cost a lot to fix. I'm not worried about that, the F-22 has more than "proven itself" as many say. There isn't a jet in the world I'd want to take against it, you WILL lose. That jet is insanely capable and anyone who says otherwise is seriously misinformed.

The only reason I didn't put it number 1 on my list is due to the fact that it's mission more or less excludes air to ground. The F-16 does everything, not as well as the more specialized fighters, but everything. I want to keep doing low levels, air to air, air to ground, and maybe a CAS type mission too. That opportunity was appealing to me, but trust me when I say I flip flopped those 2 for months before putting Vipers 1st.

Of course if I don't get what I ask for tomorrow, this is a moot point so right now I'm just hoping I did as well as I think I did.

they're also left out to dry because when financial problems erupt and the taxpayers hear theres a problem with a new plane, anyone who's half informed loses it under the BS premise that it's a waste, etc etc.

No doubt it's a quality fighter. A damn sexy looking one too.

I can understand not wanting to be "stuck" in an exclusively air superiority type. I use the word stuck very loosely here, as I hardly consider flying the f-22 as being a terrible scenario.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of the f-35 though.
