Only 90's kids will get this

There once was a woman who had 100 children. She named each of them after numbers in the order they were born. There was a fire and all of them died except Ninety. Ninety went off to have kids of her own. They were very kind and loving. One day they found an injured dog. They took it home and nursed it back to health. They hid the dog and never told their mother afraid she would kick the dog out . In fact they never told anyone. To keep from arousing any suspicions they named the dog "This" so the name could be used in conversation. One day This ran away. They never saw This again. No one else knew about This. No one even knew a dog named This existed. Only Ninety's kids will remember This.
 
I feel like kidz bop wasn't even around in the 90s so what the fucj is this shit anyway. Maybe late late 90s but I'm thinking 2000-02

Sandstorm came out in 2000. Im not sure how 90's kids are suppose to get this? They listened to Darude when they were 10 years old or younger? OP gtf 80's kids ftw.

99 but still. I'm thinking this thread is for kids who were born in the 90s, not 90s kids. I was born in 89 but I'm a 90s kid. I grew up in the 90s. If your were born after 95 what the hell do you know about the 90s? You grew up in the 2000's

I think its dumb how people always post stuff about how much better the 90's were. Every generation thinks the time they grew up was the best, even though all the fads and things the kids were into during that time were probably just as dumb as the next. I will admit though that this "cyber" generation is a lot more boring then the older ones

Idk, I feel like the farther back you could go the better for what I would like. 90s kids had some technology but everyone still went out and played ALL the time. That really started to change. Now parents are having to switch off the wifi and kick kids out of the house. Kids have iphones at like 5 years old. They're connected from the start. That organic play just doesn't happen like it used to.

As far as trends it's true. Some are better than others, a lot are pretty fucking awful. Many just repackaged from 1 or 2 generations ago.

Idk, I liked when I grew up because the sports like bmx, snowboarding, and others were happening. At the same time they weren't so serious either. That's probably the only thing I'd miss if I went farther back but I'm sure I would have found something else to do.

IMO there's something to that organic play. Once in a while you gotta get away from technology and just kick it. Even if it's just a few hours in nature. Now some peoples only motivation for doing so is being able to take selfies or whatever.

I mean i was born in 96 so I'm not really a 90's kid. I guess I was like on the first part of the whole technology thing.. But my parents didn't really go with it. i lived in between two big forests so all I did was bike and make forts and shit. but I get what you're saying. Most of my friends weren't like that, most of them had a gamecube or playstation, which was cool at first. But none of my friends went through that crazy preteen faze where you did crazy shit and mash your face up on a weekly basis.

there's definitely something to be said for being unplugged every now and again. every time i do it when I travel to some super remote place, i kind of wish i could live like that forever.

I agree completely. As a kid, I was outside all the time and had so much freedom. I remember going an playing in the park and walking to school when I was in kindergarten and grade one. Then we moved out to an acreage and I would hop on my bike in the morning, disappear for hours, come back for lunch and repeat in the afternoon. There were bikes and horses to ride, woods to explore, cows to chase, trees to climb, forts to build and a million other things to do.

It also helped that my parents refused to buy us any kind of video games. As a kid, I would get frustrated that all of my friends had video games, but now that I'm older I appreciate it so much more than I ever would have thought.

There are a lot of amazing things that come with technology, but the absence or lack of technology in and of itself is not a bad thing and I wish more kids would learn that.

This was me too. I think it shows through also, comparing myself now to all my friends who were city kids and had video games when I didn't. I can handle a lot more responsibility and be more self relent then they can, especially without technology. Just like how my parents let me go play in the woods for an entire day they now let me just take my car and go wherever. I cant say the same for most of my friends.
 
Yeah I think the biggest problem is the lack of control at that age. If some kids are given all that technology they won't turn it off. Technology isn't bad but I feel it should be used more as a tool to help us than the answer to absolutely everything.

I've been to hostels where there's a bunch of young people all on a crazy adventure and everyone is just sitting on their phones or laptops not talking to each other. I'm not saying Burn your computer, throw your phone off a bridge, and live in a cave, but I feel like if you miss out on life because of facebook and other shit that's a loss.

Sure I piss away time on here regularly, but any chance I get I try and get out there and do something. Idk. I just don't want us to get to a point where that just doesn't happen any more.
