etc...

thanks

you live in cali. you want ezekiel, lrg, and hurley. you really cant find one single skateshop? i mean come on, theyre a dime a dozen now.

i have no idea though for online shops that sell that stuff. not really into those brands

what are links? lol

and i can find hella shit in cali but not where i live...its not near beach or anything its like the valley haha

haha i know, WM for clothes like jeans, shirts, and sweatshirts, Sac for gear. what else is needed?

pfft. i'm sorry, i've worked for local shops and i do much of my shopping online. unless it's something like boot fitting, shops are just going to need to come to grips with the fact that online stores are their competition and they need to do more to compete with online retailers than simply whining "support your local shop!" when a local shop starts hooking up deals like you can find online, i'll show them more support- until then i'm going to support the people who understand my budget and wants and help me find a way to get the products i desire... in other words, the interwebs. with the exceptions of boot fitting and having the tools to mount every binding i might come across, i have/know what i need to get me by and keep me happy and on snow, so what's the point in going to a shop to pay retail on a pair of skis and bindings when i can find that same stuff online for WAY less? that's why shops like Jibij and Evo are both online and in-store retailers. shops need to learn to adapt to a changing marketplace, end of story.

anyway, to respond to the thread, how could a kid from Cali not hear of pacsun? i haven't shopped there in ages, but i'm pretty sure they carry those brands you listed.

noone is telling you for a reason, we like to keep them a secret. sorry, just do some investigatin and you might find out

yea that is really tempting and you do seem to understand everyones love for oakley on this site but we just can't tell you... search the internet theres only so many sites your bound to find it sometime

Yeah theres probably only about 2 billion sites on the web, sift through them all and you might find sac and wm

i get anything from oakley for almost 60percent off. i tihnk i could manage a poster.. whats link.

first one gets.

sorry man but you're just going to have to put in your time on NS. we like to keep things secret cuz the more people that know the quicker we lose the deals. stick around NS for a while and you'll learn eventually. if you make people like you someone might eventually give you a whisper. only if you've earned it though

steve, you touched my heart. wait, no, that's just the taco bell from lunch acting up. i have yet to ever go to a ski shop like you described- every shop i've ever been to is there to cater to people with money and sell as much high-end shit as possible. i'm sure shops like the one you described exist, but until i find one, i'm going online to buy my gear. even then, unless i absolutely have to have work done that i don't know how to do myself, i probably won't buy from shops. if shops want to compete for my business, they're welcome to invest in a website and become an online retailer (something they'll likely have to end up doing anyway as business becomes more and more online-oriented). if it's just product i'm looking for, i'm going online, and i'd only go into a shop for service if it's for something i'm not capable of doing myself. thanks for the invite to the shop to meet Dan, but since i'm too far away that wouldn't be possible... of course, if Dan had a website i'd probably buy something from him.

mooseshirts.com has some pretty steezy stuff

hoodies, t's all the good stuff

as for actual ski stuff

getboards.com

evogear.com super legit!!!

depending on what your lookin for and how smart of a shopper you are, ebay has some killer shit!!!

rofl man. rofl.

i just want to know of a site. and i dont put in pussy orders of like $150 or less. i support ns and ive sent in over 3 SASE's and the same for other sites. dont be dicks and someone please message me so i can order some stuff.. its my bday in 4 days. cmon wow

ok honestly, no less than 20 minutes ago i looked at this, saw some shit about "wm", wondered what it was and if it was a big joke. i was kinda pissed that a bunch of people we sort of dangeling it infront of the faces of people who dont know. so i move on. i 'e-search' for a shirt i had seen earlier, and accidentially stumble upon what i believe to be "wm" assuming it isnt some joke that went too far and there really wasn't some online place abreviated to "wm". the site i found is pretty sick, has a bunch of cool stuff, and i'm totally glad i found it. needless to say, "putting in more NS time" had nothing to do with it.

They are a store located in Maine. I am located outside of Buffalo, New York, which is Western New York. By no means is it close to Maine.

this is a ridiculous statement. my local shop has no idea at all who I am. they don't care about me anymore than backcountry.com does. additionally, I walk into almost any "local" ski shop, and I know more about the skis they sell than the salespeople. That's not a claim on my part, I'm just trying to point out how little most shops care about the freestyle niche.

I'm sorry, but silly emotional pleas like this really don't hold any water. my local shop is more expensive than online, and they don't care about me any more than an online shop, in fact, i've gotten better customer service from getboards.com than i have from local shops.

i agree.

so so true.

only one guy at my shop knows who i am, and thats only cuz we've been friends for a while and we ski togather sometimes.

and yea theyr are a lot of sales guys at shops that are there totally for the "money" and they dont know jack about skis.

and shops are so freakin expensive.

im all about supportin the local stuff but why buy skis at a shop for 100 bucks more than what you can get them for on the internet.

its not bein a dick, its bein a smart skiier by buyin stuff online. that means you have more $$ in your pocket for other stuff....gloves, hoodies, beer etc.

you probably do. but i think a lot of people are in the same boat as me, which is why they buy online.

Steve, I know exactly what you are saying. My problem is, we don't have a local shop that carries the items that I'm interested in. I'd love to be able to try things on or look at items in person before I buy, but right now I just have to go with the internet.

if you tell me of a shop like the one you described in NJ then I'll go right to it. problem is most shops are not like that at all. you're lucky to have somewhere like that to go.

Steve, I honestly felt every word you were saying. I guess those of us with truly quality shops and dedicated/knowlegable/genuine people working there are really lucky. Shit, I'll go into the shop, hang out for two hours, talk to the owner about his trip to Utah, check out some gear, just chill. Even if I can't afford this years stuff (I usually can't), I'll buy last years jacket for 50% off, exactly what the shop payed for it. After you've been a customer at a shop for a while (ive been at the same one for 6 years) they hook you up with discounts, free mounts, free repairs/bindings fixes. It's about establishing a relationship with people who will understand when you can't put into words that gnar line you got first tracks on. They will nod their head and say, "I know exactly how you feel." Granted, not everyone has a shop like this, and I by no means buy everything at said shop. I buy a good amount of my stuff online, because I cant spend gobs of money. That being said, I balance between buying from the shop and the internet, because it makes financial snese. If you have a shop like Steve's and mine, support it when you can. If not, i really feel bad for you guys

Exactly what skibum said. IThe margins on the sticker prices of skis, bindings, etc. are pretty good. Volkls with an MSRP of $700 are usually sold for $500-$600 depending on the shop's location and cost the shop about $150-$200.

If I had a shop that quality in my area, I would. The place that's closest to that is a shop that still sees $$$$ signs over your head when you walk in the door, and you can tell that. But they are chill to your face and easygoing about things. I don't go there often though because they are an hour away, and out of the way of anywhere I usually go.

are you talking about the new site where a new item comes up every 4 minutes? i dont wanna say the name of it but that site is dope
