hey ns's.

so i am thinking about taking a year in the usa as a highschool student, but i haven't decided where(obeviously i want to go to a place where its mucho snow and great parks).

where would YOU go if it where up to you?

ps: i dunno much about skiing in usa. just know that mammoth, baker and bear-mountain are great places...

Mammoth or Tahoe/Truckee area

Mammoth is pretty self explanatory

Tahoe/Truckee has a little more variety but just as much epicness.

isn't utah like a super christian place, where you get spanked if you'r not going to church? no hard feelings for you who believes.

park city, the co resorts are ok but way too touristy un less you can get in to the durango area then that would be good too. the san juan's get hit hard every year so lots of powder.

i'm taking a year i the US too. i'm going to one of the mountain states, i wasn't able to pick which one though...

are you actually trying to go to highschool while youre here? i know there are a few schools that have skiing programs...i cant remember what it's called but there's a school between keystone and breck that has skiing instead of PE so you can go everyday after class and on weekends...

if youre not going to school though just pick someplace in tahoe or 'rado and just go for it.

you can choose where you wanna go in th us?  i exchanged too, to switzerland but i couldn't choose whbere i lived.. ended up near zurich which is still super close to the mountains anyways... as for here.. well you could end up anywhere in the us.. and its vast and very different all over.   but if you can choose.. well i might say colorado.. if you are gonna go with a host fam, talk about how much you love skiing and snow and bla bla bla on your application and they usually try to put you with a fami;ly that is like you.. so if you put skiing on your app you know.. your more likely to end up with a skiing famly. okay.

Durango, Colorado

Or

Salt Lake City, Utah

This is where you will get the driest powder, great all mountain terrain and park if you want it. Look at the San Juan Mountains (near Durango) right now, they are getting pounded (Wolf Creek)

going to a highschool in usa is why i go.. i travel with a organization called speak. maybe you have heard about EF? well, dunno why i have to go to schools with skiing programs? why can't i just go skiing after the "regular" school is finished for the day?
