ONE song in THREE skimovies??? WTF?!?

heres the thing. this year I bought three skimovies. first off pretty good. Awesome movie, nice sound great movie. Next EDIAS. same thing. until I heard a song that is in pretty good too. Caged bird part 1 by Zion I. I hate it when the same song apears in two different movies. If I hear a song that is in a skimovie I always see the pictures in my head. That is destroyed if the same song is in different movies.Today I bought refresh. Now im halfway through, mike Hornbecks part is coming up. Whats the song called? CAGED BIRD PART 1. WTF?!? are u fuckin serious???the same song in three different skimovies? Cant u guys talk to each other about tracklists??So far I loved all three movies, but this thing SUCKS!

crimewave by crystal castles was in two movies last year. turbo and such is life. annoyed me a bit, mainly because that's one of their worst songs, but i really didn't think it was that big of a deal

Why would they all get together and tell each other what their track listings are? That sounds like a horrible idea. Next thing you know companies would be hating each other because they want to use the same song.

it really shouldn't matter that much to you

if it really gets bad just make your own playlist and play it when you watch the movie, thats what i did for MASSIVE, sick movie but shitty soundtrack (I can only take so much JAH LOVE)

i spoke with dan at rage and berman at level 1 bout this track early in the year. all three of us said the same thing, "let's use it and see what different edits come out." next thing you know this thread came up and i called dan and berman to let them know how upset you were, we all said the same thing, "let's do it again next year and see if this kids head explodes."

ahahaha that was great

Seriously, I think the problem here isn't that three ski movies used the same song, but that you have obsessive-compulisve disorder.

i saw Refresh and EDIAS at MWSFF and it bugged me too man. i know what you mean about seeing two different edits. personally though i loved mike hornbecks part, plus it was reppin the midwest, so i gotta show some love haha

i thought it was cool to see the ways different ski movies use the same song in different ways, and still make it work well in the different edits

i gotta agree with this thread just cus its showing how ski companies aren't diverse enough these days, all the movies this year are incredible don't get me wrong but these big companies are all doing the same thing with the same kinda music. Its time that another TBC or idea comes out. Shits gettin redundant

turbo, such is life, and the snowboard movie i ride park city actually

another example of this is dead disco by metric

alterna action's fast food, dc mtn lab, and long story short

it happens, get over it

Bummer of a coincidence, yes...travesty, no. I am a stickler for music originality- but these things happen, especially with new music and accessible liscensing. Compare Hornbeck's part to Ager's or Rage's- completely different, yet same song, certainly not enough to ruin either of those parts for me.
To me, a bad trend I have noticed is snowboard movies copping hot tracks from skateboard videos that have already been out, much more of a foul.

Ya they should call each other and coordinate cause before you go skiing every day you call your friends first to make sure your not all wearing the exact same tall tee lol sarcasm meter 10/10

as soon as i got The Take Over and heard that track i was like, yup, thats gonna be in at least one movie this year. when i heard it at the Rage premier, i was like WHATTTTT!!! OKAYYYY!!!! YAYUHHHH!!!!!

shit happens all the time but it aint too big of a deal,

what really sucks is when every single kid with a camera has to put up a "sick back yard summer edit!!" to MGMT or something....fuckin ruins the song

You better be kidding. It wasnt in Under the Influence, Journal, Massive, 44 Days, Claim. There were a bunch without it.

I also think that EDIAS's soundtrack sucked. It was all hip-hop. Not everyone wants to hear it for the whole length of a decent ski movie.

I agree with you^6 i was dissapointed by the soundtrack in EDIAS, but i though the soundtrack for Pretty good was worse. I was a fan of the music in refresh and in deep.

As for the song being in all three movies, i do think it is a little ridiculous, but not a huge deal. It doesn't help that I'm not a fan of the song in the first place.

haha I saw all three at freshtival and didn't even notice. Maybee that's why the rap seemed repetitive
