One Reason Why Snowboarding Is Cooler Than Skiing

Guys, the whole having fun thing is sooo played.

I'm honest when I say this in that I think the whole "goofy" having fun thing is just another fad in snowboarding. Like said above it, it looks like they're alomst trying to hard to have fun.

If a fad makes snowboarding better than skiing, well... PEACEcoast bitches.

just because there is a difference in the movies, doesnt mean that skiing is any less a cool fun activity than snowboarding. theyre are the same thing. I cant wait to go extreme downhill ice stunting this october. just for fun! maybe ill watch the movie on the chairlift.
 
reason 0, skiing is more fun. get off the cock of espn's golden child and support the sport you love to do. and no one support think thank, they are whiney bitches who hate on skiers for showing them up and do not deserve anything.
 
see, this is the real difference in skiing and snowboarding. the reason why most of you seem to love snowboarding movies are because they are not about fads, they just look like they dont care and are trying to have fun. i can garuntee you that having fun is not a fad. i know what youre trying to say with alot of these themed "goofy" or fun looking movies, but maybe thats because IT IS FUN. many snowboarders could care less about trends in movies because they just want to have fun snowboarding. maybe this "trend" is just an example of what all movies should look like, people having fun skiing. if you saw a ski movie with this same style, would you not say this is the direction ski movies should go in?

Isenseven gets you stoked, brings a smile to your face and gets you laughing - whereas Tanner's seriousness takes away from all that stuff. It's focusing too much on being a proferssional. Last time I checked, 99.5% of people who buy ski/snowboard movies will never be a professional at their prefered sport - so why concentrate on the seriousness?! I'd much rather watch people having a great time becasue that is what skiing is to me, and all it will ever be - having fun.
 
so you would rather tanner be forcing gay fun doing easy tricks that make people who don't know anything about tricks think it's "fun"? and also some people think that doing real tricks is fun like myself so....

fuck that shit.

oh, and i'm stoked even SKIIERMAN is calling "fun" out it's sick.
 
snowboarding will never be as good as skiing...period, the only thing that makes it good is that in snowboarding you can never nut yourself unless you snap your board which i dont know how is possible
 
Hey chill out you God damned walking contradictions.

It looks like a fad to me because well maybe THEY aren't doing it because everyone else is, but sure as hell, there are many that are. Yeah on the outside they look like they don't care and are just about having fun, but in all seriousness, they are only doing it because the people they look up to are doing it. Which in my mind isn't some revelation that you're supposed to have fun, but it's more of following the trends. Some of the biggest posers I know are doing this and they're still full of hate and that's why I think it's just a fad.

If it wasn't and you were as legit as you said you were about having fun, then why would you spend all that time responding to me saying how because I think it's a fad, that all skiers are too serious and full of hate? Why would you take all that time to essientially find aspects/traits/people in skiing to hate on? If you were that legit about having fun, you would not have gotten all defensive because when you're having fun, you don't give a fuck. Another point that this whole goofing off and having fun thing, is just a fad.

there is a difference with having fun on skis and forcing fun...having fun doesn't always mean you are dancing and overly happy and trying to be rediculous in front of the camera so people think you are funny, people have to realize that!

just be yourselves people, you don't have to be a standup comedian on skis.

some people like to dance and some people are rediculous with or without a camera present....you may be right and in the sense that the producers of isenseven movies are trying to portary the whole "snowboarding is fun" image but theres nothing wrong with that. because it is
 
you are right about the fact that there is nothing wrong with that.

also any person has a right to like their edits, they might be "your type of edit" or whatever. you might like watching sub-par riding with people acting overly happy?

all i'm coming down to, is that their ideas have all been done before, they are pretty much just following an old trend with worse riding, so i don't see how they are so special.
 
who cares? if you don't like it, you don't like it, but some of us do. when i go skiing with my friends, it's a gong show. everyone's goofing around and just having fun. this movie represents what skiing is to me far better than any other film i've seen. yeah, there aren't any cab 10s, you don't get to see any super sweet graphics, and there wasn't 15 minutes of slo-mo footage, but it was a film i felt like i could personally relate to and it got me stoked for the season. go ahead and hate away on it, try to use rational arguments to convince me to think otherwise, but i know what fun is and i just watched people having a whole bunch of it, so there's no changing my mind- that was sweet as hell.
 
Reason 8 or so, snowboarders don't sit on snowboard.com incessantly formulating reasons why skiing is cooler than snowboarding.
