Ok, so i've been having the idea of a onepiece skisuit for a long time, now that my current pants and jacket are nearing the end of their life and seeing how i mainly ski powder and freeride i've been thinking about getting a onepiece instead of a new 2 piece outerwear setup

so im curious to hear what you guys have to say/recommend about onepieces, personally i think the ones like the noronna lofoten or peak heli look sick !

i'd really like to give it a try cause those things look comfy as fuck + i can collect GNAR points each morning just by looking in the mirror (Spot someone in a fartbag)

I have the lofoten in red w/ green zippers and it's amazing. Huge but amazing. I am 5'8" and about 160ish and the M is huge on me. I would consider selling only with the intentions of getting a different size or color. I'll never be without one again.

There seriously is not a better piece of pow riding storm gear than a hardshell onezie. It works when it's freezing, when it's warmer, nuking, raining, sleeting, whatever- zip it up and the weather is an afterthought, as well as my obsessive compulsive tucking-in of layers doesn't matter anymore. You're just evenly warm and comfy, and if you get hot, undo a zip and BAM! You're vented like crazy. I even use mine to tour as well- there are so many zips it allows you to vent but still maintain overall protection from wind and snow.

On cold days, I wear my high pile fleece top and pants under it and the chair could be swinging in the wind and I'm inside it oblivious as if I was sitting on my couch in fleece.

The only thing though is that everyone and their mother thinks you're wearing it just so they can comment on it. Everyone sees it, and so too you. Just be aware of the fact that you will never be able to duck a rope and get away with it ever again unless you get the black one, and you WILL get a million comments- some good and some totally dickish- no matter what, especially if it's a bright color.

Highly recommended though. If you can score one for cheap, do it. Actually, PM coming. I have a great hookup for you.

we had some of these in the shop i used to work at, one of the most desired pieces of technical outerwear in europe the the reps told us, really really sick piece of kit, the fit is really quite large/long so be careful to check the measurements, personally i like the black one with different coloured zippers, if only i had the cash!

talking about the lofoten, also it has some really clever features like the underarm zips which have been taken of and reset if you get what i mean so they work with a back pack, asymetric cuffs etc

I know that Salomon made some pretty nifty ones a little while ago, but I think if you can lay down the dough then get that Norrona one.

is there anywhere other than backcountry.com that ships norronas to canada. They are hard as hell to find otherwise

Strafe makes solid stuff. Their waterproof membrane is the same one that trew uses, and they use a tough 3L construction with superfabric (again, the same stuff with the ceramic beads that trew uses) on the cuffs. And they make a onepiece, called the sickbird suit, that comes in several fresh colors. Check it out for sure.

if you can afford a strafe sickbird it'll be very good quality, but then again so will norrona. both quality and extremely expensive

Gonna bump this. Thinkin of gettin a strafe. How do they fit? Anybody have pics of them on the ski hill?

My parents forced me to wear a gaper one piece when I was 12. Its kind of a sensitive issue for me. MOM I DONT WANNA WEAR THAT SUIT THE KIDS ARE GONNA LAUGH AT ME!!! Alright anyway I gotta go I'm late for my therapy session.
