One of the Craziest College Football plays (UofU fail)

Triple_facepalm.png

UTah could be undefeated I think they win yesterday if they go up 14-0 and shoulda beat ASU IDK what happened against WSU. D Line is nasty. Unlucky the OU transfer QB left but Wilson is good too. That kid is a punk it cost them the game.

When that dude was running that in I was really mad at myself for not getting a bigger bet on the Utes and not nailing the money line. I just had Utes +10 for small. Then he did that and I was thrilled I didn't put more on it and knew that play was not only the difference in UU not winning but they also prob wouldn't cover. Fell asleep before it ended but sounds like the Ducks got there late.

Just goes to show that getting into college on a football scholarship doesn't mean you're smart (looking at you, Richard Sherman)

yeah you dont know much bout football, college, or the combination of the two.

It was a shitty play, a huge mental mistake. those things happen. Its not like that play was the last play of the game and UofU had no chance to win after.

So you disagree that it was an insanely stupid mistake to make? Because that's literally all I'm saying. You might be reading too much into it.

No, that was not all you were saying.

Or are you not bright enough to know what you, yourself say?

You seemed to be implying that Richard Sherman is dumb, which he isn't. He's pretty damned bright. He's just kind of a dick.

Anyway that guy must feel horrible. That's like... that's something that haunts you for years.

Sounds reasonable.

This happens to me and is usually responsible for my bans.

i'm no expert but anyone who can make it into Stanford (Richard Sherman) is probably smart.

Goddamn offense is apparently making losing the ball at or behind the 1 yard line a habit. The only thing that we have going for us is out defense.

Why would you mention one of the smartest players in the after that comment?

He isn't dumb, but I don't think he's nearly as smart as he thinks he is. He puts a whole lot of emphasis on the "I went to Stanford" part, and not nearly enough on the "on a football scholarship" part, which is what irks me about him.

You'd be surprised how much of an advantage being an athlete can give you when it comes to college admissions.

You backtrack, then contradict, then go on spewing ignorance. Damn.

You really don't know how Stanford's admission process works, do you? Because i do...and you are very far off the mark.

Don't take this as me emotionally investing in this though, im fully aware this is an internet argument ha!

I'm pretty sure, but not positive, I didn't do any of those things.

I don't, but every other school I know of (including the Ivies), is very much willing to overlook academics when athletes are being considered. If Stanford really is different, then my bad.

Stanford is a long way removed from the Ivy, and East Coast way of thinking. They dont want kids who are good at school, but that is their life. They want kids who are really smart, talented and have a drive to innovate and be a driving force in this world. So yeah, you need to have great grades, but you also need to be world class in some aspect to get into that school. Its a very different way of thinking from the Ivys. Its different from any other school out there for that matter. Sherman very much belonged at Stanford, and absolutely is a Stanford caliber individual.

Oh, and he had a 4.1 GPA coming out of Dominguez HS... so he aint no slouch in the classroom.

Why are people comparing Utah and Stanford as schools academically?

Anyways the two play this week interesting point spread kind of wanna bet Utah. Utah is getting 7.5 and the game is in Palo Alto. Stanford hasn't played too well this year Utah matches up pretty good on paper with them since they can stop that power run game but damned that might be a tough a spot emotionally for the Utes to play well.
