One of many reasons you shouldn’t shit on Gilson

I don’t like Gilson sometimes for just picky personal reasons of mine…

but you can’t do anything but hold a huge amount of respect for the company for actions like this.

All the team riders who have come through our shop to get mounts have nothing but positive things to say about the process of developing the skis. Constantly experimenting with new constructions to increase durability and addressing rider concerns. They seem legit to me

They definitely are, people love to hate but if you don’t have haters you’re not doin it right

Pretty sure they did this so we would stop shitting on them. They have one target market, us, and they don’t seem to want to cater to it..?

what would they do differently to cater to the NS demographic? not trying to attack you genuine question

Everything Gilson does reeks of desperation. NS doesn't shit on Gilson nearly as much as The Angry Snowboarder.

I got nothing against gilson, they pump out lots of content on NS..

but I can confidently say I’ve never seen a gilson ski in person

This isn’t directed at Gilson, but rather at all ski companies out there. I feel like just about every company out the makes the same exact ski but with different profiles and flex patterns. I’m gonna get a little off-topic here but..

All ski companies use the exact same materials for their edges. Nobody has experimented with different grades of carbon steel, composites, or titanium. A durable ski edge doesn’t exist in the park skiing world. Every ski edge is created equal by the same manufacturer.

The point I’m getting at is that the brand recognition of ski companies all comes down to marketing and what they give back to the community. Gilson does a lot in that Avenue and I hugely respect that. But marketing and community support only go so far when your product is the exact same as the competition.

TLDR: All skis are the same, brand image is just marketing and giving back to the community

If you were to try and sh** on gilson, sharp little titanium clad robot arms would emerge from the topsheet and start grabbing at some sensitive parts. I won't try that again. Those fancy graphics are hiding some incredible defense tech.

I respect gilson, and honestly one day might buy them, but it’s really hard to compete with brands like K2 who drop literally top of the line park skis for $499…. That extra $100 better offer me $100 worth of better performance. Can anyone attest to this, anyone who rode Bandits or Fusions lmk cuz I’m not opposed at all to trying them out

Saw quite a few people throwing down on them for ruby hill rail yard opening day in Denver

What's wrong with Gilson?

They way they talk, the way they act, and most importantly they hate park skiers, and are gaslighting the community into thinking they are cool.

I don’t see any other companies offering Dan four pairs of skis to give away to homies competing at the railjam. Odds are high my friend will win a pair, he needs em, super cool.

This is them trying to cater toward it??? Why complain? Instead we should commend them.

I meant the products, projects, and marketing. This is what unestablished ski brands soon to die to do from Boone to CoreUpt to HG

Are you gonna seriously sit here and say HG or CoreUPT weren’t established?
