Just out of curiosity, does anyone have a good idea of aproxamatley how much money pros earn per annum? Including sposnors, movies and contests? Obviously some earn a lot more than others, but what is average? I don't think it's very much.

Never try to mix cool-aid with a wisk, it just doesn't work.

noone has any clue really unless they are a pro or have been told something by a pro, but the best ones make around 300000 i think

I know that CR Johnson made over 40,000 dollars in one month last year...but that isn't average because it was around x-games and U.S open

it would be hard to count because so much of what pro's rake come in the form of gifts from sponsors. If Vinnie has enough to buy a house and a car, i'd say that they get paid enough.

Tanner Hall makes $50,000 a year salary from Oakley. Oakley also outfits him with a $10,000 travel budget, that he must fill out expense reports for. This allows him to go everywhere and do everything. His winnings are also matched by Oakley, so when he wins $10,000 at a contest, Oakley gives him a $10,000 bonus. His prize matches are up to $10,000. (so if he wins $20K, he only gets an additional $10K from Oakley).

Red Bull pays him $10,000 a year, and matches prize winnings up to $5,000.

Tanner made about $175,000 last season, and I believe he broke the $200,000 mark this season. He was making $15,000 a year from Rossignol, but now he is with Armada, which does not pay him a salary, he gets corporate earnings as if he was a company executive.

Most sponsors have the same ideas, and paying them $30k-$50k a year is nothing, because they pay them as if they were an employee, so they also get health insurance benefits, and other benefits large companies can offer.

Candide Thovex makes $80,000 a year from Salomon, which is why he moved over. He is the highest salary athelete in newschool skiing.

I dont know for sure any of the other atheletes figures, I have only heard rumors.

most photo incentives are for like $200 per photo max. If u get a cover, it's like $500, or $1000 if it's a bigger company. Over a year a very published pro may walk away with $5,000 from photos. Videos are really big, like $1000 tp $5000 for a good segment in a PBP, MSP, TGR, or Warren Miller (WM sucks, but he makes bank around the world).

no,i think i read in freeze, it was a column reply by either shane or glenn plake, and they said that only a handful of pro skiers make enough to even fit into a tax bracket
