One Hit Wonder Videos Up

fuck as much as i hate kent-worthless, it was flawless. joe schuster surpirsed me too, i'd say he should be in second.

hahahaha epic....That dub 14 was pretty dope though! Schuster surprised me with that 14, Joss's killed it, and Jossi's safety to truck was steezy!

I'll be interested to see if we see a repeat of Dumont's double front victory at the X-games big air a couple years ago. Don't get me wrong Houghton's dub front was sick though.

jesse was tossing up whether to put forward his sw double 12 or his double front... obviously in the end he developed a bit of strategy and went with the dub front...

i've always thought about this - dumont at that winter x was one of the first times the public vote format had been used in this sport, so the riders didn't really know what to expect. though with the One Hit Wonder, perhaps they can draw from the past and use the knowledge that a crowd pleaser can be more on the money more so than a technical "judge-pleasing" trick.

the public vote is not a traditional format in skiing, but there's no reason the riders can't all use that knowledge to their advantage when formulating a game plan.

and if you don't like it, well there is plenty of judged events still around. something for everyone.

You mean double cork 10 myers? not sw dub 12 haha....For the record my brother did do a sick double cork 10, however opted for the dub front....ballsy on that jump too.

Yeah, I'm aware that he stomped both the dub front, 10 and 12(I think), nor did I say that I don't like the strategy that he used. Also, all his tricks that I saw looked damn good. As with all comps one should know the rules and use them to your advantage, if he wins, he will have outdone everyone on this front. I think there are certain issues with using a publicly judging format, that are highlighted by an Aussie submitting a dub front, just like there were with Dumont and his dub front. 1) I think Dumont was largely favored in the XGames because he was an American, in an event that mainly Americans voted in. This is something that Wester also commented on after that event. Although I am well aware that people from all over the globe can vote in this event I would not be surprised if an unproportionately large number of Australians come out to support Jesse, which is understandable. 2) Would this have really been such a cool event if everyone had just done the trick they thought would have had the most mass appeal? That would be tricks like dub front, dub back, and probably even triple back. Tricks that are cool, but for the most part have been around for along time and don't support the progression of the sport as much as a grabbed double do(this is definitely my opinion, but one that many people agree with). Personally I'd like to see something like JOSS were there is an award both for the public vote and a judged vote.
