Mediocre english pop rock band from the 60's vs shitty modern day english pop group. I don't see a huge problem with the comparison. They're both overrated pop groups from the UK who make mediocre music.

You sir are an idiot. The beatles were considered pretty hard rockers in their time. Also they actually sang and used instruments. One direction is 5 gay guys who lip sink and blow eachother a lot. The Beatles got more pussy than you could ever imagine!!!!
 
Exactly my point. They started out as a shitty boy band until Bob Dylan got them high for the first time and they changed history.
 
I get what he's saying though. There early stuff was very meh comparatively. At the same time you're right though, even that was progressive at the time. It was nothing like the boy bands of today.
