Although his post was meant to provoke emotional reaction and very poorly displayed he is pretty much on the money.
American foreign policy for the past few decades has been extremely incompetent. We know now that our exacerbation and exploitation of Islamic fundamentalism in the Middle East has come back to bite us in the ass, big time. The logic of the way we see the Middle East can be summed up into a game in which we use the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" philosophy.
Nearly every country we have ever propped up to fight one another (Afghanistan vs Russia, Iran vs Iraq, Saudi Arabia in the Gulf War, Pakistan in the Afghan conflict) has turned their back on us somehow. Yet we continue to push the boundaries of how far we can exploit and what next country we can welcome to our puppet alliance: NATO.
It would be nice if everyone could realize this. A lot of the world does, but most Americans are still oblivious to why we have terrorism and why a lot of the world heavily scrutinizes the American government. When it boils down to it who really pays? It's the common people. The ones trapped in the consistent tug of war for regional power. The ones who died in 9/11 had nothing to do with our decisions to use Saudi Arabia's proximity for basing rights only to anger the general population. The Afghan citizens suffered for our opposition of Russia.
I am optimistic of my generation. The more I talk with people my age the more I begin to realize the true history of geopolitics is coming around.
