Once in a lifetime

so a buddy called me today and said pretty much that i could join him for a trip to new zealand 3 weeks in summer (he rides for armadas AM team over here). great deal on pass/apartment, etc, flight would be the most expensive thing.

so its either going there, for the fucking sake of doing it once in a lifetime, SPEND 1k-2k OR work (is already fixed but i could get out of it) as a ropes course-instructor in that time as i did last year and actually MAKE around 1k in these 3 weeks.

i know, i have to make the decision myself, but what is your take? would you go there just for the sake of "how awesome" it might be, or rather stay at home and make money and not spend it for something you arent completely sold on? thats pretty much the question. i know that it would be kinda great over there, but i skied a lot last year and i like summer.

Go, you'll regret it later if you don't. Just think about it, you'll be home working and thinking what and idiot I was for not going.
 
this sentence is stuck in my head. after a flagfootball game last week we sat together with some of the guys and had a few beers and one of them is coincidentally a semi-pro snowboarder and told some great stories about his travels in the US. another one just finished two semester at a university in new orleans and how they got blazed in vip clubs with his creditcard for 500 $. and we always raised our glasses, laughed and ended up saying (in english btw, although we speak german) "once in a lifetime"...

fuck it, great opportunity.
 
life sucks when its filled with regrets of not doing things. do it. once in a lifetime chance. its amazing out there too.
 
First off: Don't think of it as once in a life time, because that is simply bullshit. Maybe the price and the people are once in a lifetime, but you can always go and I be your friend will be going again!
Second: Fucking do it. DUH!
 
went skiing in new zealand for about a month 2 summers ago, best trip ive ever been on. hands down the most fun ive ever had. go skiing!
 
I would probably go skiing just because it really may be a once in a life time opportunity. Ropes course does'nt sound too bad either haha
 
I would definitely go, youll kick yourself when you never get another chance like this. You have the rest of your life to make money.
 
the other day my bottle cap said to me: "i would rather rather regret the things i've done than regret the things i haven't done." i think that applies to your situation here.
 
the new experiences and memories you will have will be worth no sum of money when you look back on it. You're in the perfect situation, go for it!
