So I have been in the market for a new ski, and I have heard nothing but praise going to the Jeronimos. I and currently skiing some 158 (short I know) Atomic Urban Punx, and I want to try something longer and stiffer. I was just curious about the length and rocker on them. I know the J-mos have rocker, but how much? If it has a decent amount, should I go with the 171 or 181? I weigh 140 pounds, and I am 5'9". I want a ski that is about to the top of my head, but since the rocker, I am looking at running length, not ski length. So can anyone tell me how long is the running length on the J-mos? Thanks!

The 171s are actually about 174s, and the rocker in both the tip and tail is 23.5cm x 1cm, meaning that the rocker starts at 23.5cms from the tip/tail and it raises up 1cm off the ground when cambered (pressed flat on the ground) at the tip/tail before the curve of the tip/tail. Hope that makes some sense, but in other words it's not that much rocker, it's a little bit more than normal rockered parks ski, but no where near some of the normal powder rocker. I'm currently in the same situation, since mine is going to be more of an all mountain ski I'm leaning more towards the 181 (I'm 5'8" 155lbs).

181 running length: 102cmrocker: 25cm x 1cm
171 running length: 95cmrocker: 23.5cm x 1cm this was taken from the ON3P website

The running length is sort of deceptive. They ski way longer than that. hell, even the caylors track great on anything that isn't ice.
The ski slightly short with the rocker, but not as much as you would suspect.

Well actually they are 171 cm tip to tail. Most companies just aren't true to length since they measure before they make their tips so their skis end up shorter than labeled. My 191 Wrens are bang on 191. This seems to be a huge misconception.

I just said what Rowen said in a different thread...I haven't ordered mine yet, so I don't know for sure.

I believe I said that our 171 measures ~174 with other companies measuring systems. DHogg's right on the money, our lengths are what the ski will measure straight from tip to tip. I can understand why other companies do their lengths a little differently, but our system just seems the most honest and least confusing.

And OP should go for a 181, you'll get bored on the 171 and wish you had something bigger for taking off the groomers. The rocker isnt Caylor-craziness, its enough to get the tips up to float, but small enough that when you lay the ski over, you'll be engaging the rockered sections in groomer turns. Its still got camber and is stiff enough to rail it on icy days.
