ON3P Jeffery Mounting Point

Sorry to start another one of the mounting point threads. I'm downsizing my boots and don't feel like remounting (cause I have pivots that won't adjust much). So I'. basically liquidating my quiver and replacing it all (for now) with some Jeff 108s in 191. Prolly like 15% park on these but I'll be spinning and throwing tricks all over the mountain. A lot of people just say go rec but I some kartels that I had between center and req that felt pretty solid. I've also heard a lot of the ON3P team guys mount -2 from center. Is this true?

I was told from on3p that you can move it to minus 2. I have my Jeff’s at -2 and I don’t feel a difference between that and my center mounted mango are.

Go near rec, -3.5 to -4.5 from true center. It will feel central and the skis will perform very well. Mounting more forward you will lose performance. Their recommended mount is like perfect for freeride.

This is where it's at if you care how it skis. And if you have skiing technique and really want the ski to perform well on snow -2 is awesome

I got a pair of Kartel 98s mounted at minus 2.5 and it feels almost too forward to ski properly without being backseat

I meant to say that mounting at Rec. is where it's at, and -2 behind rec is even better - for the feel and control of the ski on snow

I ride my 102 at -2 for park but if I was you I would mount those are rec or maybe +1 from rec. Don’t mount those skis at -2 if you arent gonna be in the park that much

A lot of people on here tend to over think this. Sounds like you are buying the Jeff to use it how it’s intended, free ride with a lil bit of park, rec line will be perfect. If you were over 60% park then I’d start to look at moving the mount one-two cm forward. They spend a lot of time, effort, and money to figure out we’re to put that thing for the skis intended use. My current Jeff’s are plus two from rec only because I ski park like 80% 0f the time, the kartel’s I’ve had were mounted rec and definitely carved and floated marginally better.

Thanks for the help everyone. Roughly went with the general consensus. Ended up asking for +1 from rec. Skied them yesterday for the first time and I really like where they are at.

Just for the record, each mounting plate on the Jeff has slightly different alignment. I strongly recommend to anyone reading this thread to contact customer support before mounting your ON3Ps. Because of the binding plate location, my 191 Jeffs could only be mounted 2.5cm behind true center, this scales with each size.

(This is the reason you sometimes hear about bindings pulling out of ONEPs, they were mounted too far forward off the binding plate.)

Rant over, thanks for coming to my TED talk

mounted my j100s at +1 from rec and have no complaints they ski great, although that is my only experience on an on3p ski so i cant speak to other mounting points

I use my kartel 108s for like 85% freeride stuff and -3.5 from center is perfect

I was having trouble getting tossed forward today landing in deep wet snow at silverton so maybe like -4.5 is good for freeride

If you focus on freeride, -2 behind the line allows you to drive the ski alot better and float and plow better...and

Scott told me that's the furthest back you'd want to go.

Started at rec which is like -4.5 I believe, I loved them there. Ripped a heel out and went up +2 from there to -2.5 TC and also are great there.

It’s pretty standard what you expect, further back, a little better all mountain/on steeps. Close to center was better on rails and more centered in air.

If you plan on skiing a decent amount of park +2 is chill, if not go rec. For my skiing, I liked it better at rec more.

This is the info I wanted. I ripped my bindings out of the rec mount. I don't really want them to be more park oriented, as I already have mangos for park. But I do want to be able to take them into the park no problem. I also sometimes have problems with falling too far forward while freeriding, so iiiidk. Man I wish I didn't rip them out, rec was perfect

You can install binding inserts in the destroyed holes

Yeah if they aren’t toast, inserts like the other guy said was an option for me. I was curious about making them more park oriented so went up +2.

Still rip, and I like being able to do park when I want but looking to get another pair or woodsman’s and go rec with those.

Idk I don't fully trust them and the shop didn't have them I'm pretty sure, but could be wrong
