I am on the market for some custom on3ps. I am not sure what model would be better. I like a stiff ski and shred mostly directional. I am between the two models . The jeffery is obviously the O.G. but how do they compare

For all mtn charging would the woodsman be better?> not seeing much on them

Thank u

Yeah it probably would be better especially if you aren't doing butters and spins and stuff like that frequently. You definitely still can do freestyle skiing on Woodsmans but if you aren't very often and just like to charge hard, they will be perfect. I haven't ridden them for any longer than a few runs on a spring day but they seemed fairly similar to the Kartel while normal skiing.

*Jeffrey I keep calling them Kartels though haha

I have both in 108 and they're quite different for me. Much prefer the Jeff for its playfulness all over the place. The Woodsman is a way chargier directional feeling ski to me, and way less loose and playful. Super stable on jumps for sure.

I hardly ever ski switch and love my Jeffs, but when it comes time to replace them I'm going with the Woodsman.

Avoid the woodsmans if you like skiing park, otherwise cop them people seem to like em

You shut your whore mouth. Right now mister. My wrenegades are a gift from the gods themselves. Rumor has it ON3P sent Paul Bunyan into the garden of eden and chopped down that fucking tree. The wood from the tree is used in the construction of all ON3P's and the source of its indestructible power, speed, and sex appeal.

Fuckers are tempting just like the tree they came from. The directional design of some is a result of the natural taper of the tree itself and because if the tree was used to make too many twin tips, the world could possibly come to an end. The directional design functions like giant rockets that propel the skier into the future and unfortunately may steal yo girl as well.

How soft are the jefs? I'm looking for a nice playful ski to replace my reckoners

They are often described as the playful charger and you can size up or down depending on if you prioritize playfulness or support, I wouldn't call mine soft, as they are quite confident chargers when I need them to be, but they are very playful in a 181cm for me (5'11" 140lbs) and relatively easy to press into the tips and tails. My perfect day for the Jeffrey would be spring day where I'm hitting side hits and ripping soft bumps and just having a grand old time finding natural hits over the mountain.

I've had two versions of the Wrens and there is just some sort of magic in those skis that pokes the button in your brain that asks "I wonder just how close I can get to the edge of control and make people watching from the chairlift concerned for my well being while just making it out alive"

They are like your own personal heckler. Ledged has it that the layup is infused with the blood of the Peregrine Falcon for speed and Crows feathers for mischief.

This makes me so excited to ski

How would you compare the Wrens to the Jeffs? And to the Woodsman?

Do you want to drive the front of your boots and hatefuck the mountain? Wrens.

You want to pop off shit, roll through the park, and ski in a more neutral stance? Jeffrey.

A little bit in between, but more all mountain oriented than park? Woodsman.

The Wrens are amphetamines and the Jeffs are marijuana. The Woodsman is the sober dad who used to smoke and followed the Grateful Dead but now has college aged kids but is in super good shape.

This is how skis should be marketed

It has been changed this season so that’s something worth noting. Mount point and sidecut have been pulled back for 21/22.

I know I'm actually pretty disappointed, I love how last years have a directional shape but still close to center mount point. And I'm bummed they don't come in 96 anymore cause I'm really vibing with skinnier skis these days. The woodsman 96 are probs my favorite ski I've ever ridden and I'm sad they only existed for one season

I believe you can still get them in customs but yeah, from a speculation standpoint it would make sense to me if I were ON3P to move the mount back a bit further, just for less overlap with the Jeffrey. I think the new one slates right in between Jeffrey and BG pretty damn well.

Yeah I understand that moving it back makes sense for them. I'm still just bummed though cause I think that if more people had a chance to try them some more hype would develop. They're honestly the prefect do-anything ski for the east coast. Hike the park, ski some trees, rip some carves on shitty icy groomers, etc. it's all good to go. But if the mount point is farther back it seems like they might not be as fun in the park.

yeah - as previously mentioned, they are still available through customs - so huzzah for that.

I totally get Iggy's reasoning for not running the WD116, WD96, Wren96 and Jeff96 as stock skis - line up consolidation. ON3P have a shit ton of skis on offer when you consider all the different models and lengths, which must make for a lot of logistical work - let alone managing the production cycle to keep the more popular SKUs in stock.

As for the changes for the 2022 WD-line - the mount point change is fairly minimal and not something I would sweat. The major update is the new core profile in the rear, which should make them even easier to ski. Sure, they are probably a bit closer to Wrens this year, but they should still be awesome all mountain skis for those who also hit up the park every once in a while, especially if you mount a cm or two in front of recommended.

I am also happy to hear that you dig yours. I have yet to ski my 2021 pair. You are def getting me amped to get on them :)
