ON3P dilemma

Aight listen. Yes I’ve ridden a few pairs. Mag 90, Kartel 108, billy goat. They’re fucking amazing skis, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying they’re any less cool or core. I’m just saying it’s sad to see so many skiers on Instagram and in person that ride ON3P bc their parents are rich and they need to compensate for their lack of ability with top tier equipment. My mountain hosted a USASA event last season and a whole bunch of kids came up to one of my buddies (riding ON3Ps) and were saying how they were getting a pair bc they saw a Mango edit.

tbh as I continue writing I realize this could be said about most brands. I’m really glad for the success ON3P has had. They deserve every minute of glory. It’s just sad to see a beloved company, one of the raddest of the rad, be subject to the these skis will make people like me meme.

Overall? Most definitely. We probably have better park skiers and that’s it.

More young kids buying their skis? Idk, seems to me like theyre doing a good job and getting some loyal customers for life or getting kids stoked on their skis. Nothing wrong with that, literally every kid in the park had Afterbangs or something years ago so its the same shit, different era.

I have seen more "rich dudes" on ON3Ps in my area, but thats even bigger, to have uber wealthy people interested in buying your skis, cuz I had lots of questions about my pairs on chairrides at various mountains.

And frankly when I bought my kit this season mag 90s were high on the list. I wouldn’t not buy them bc they’re more common. I just miss how they used to be

I don’t think they are common just for the record. But there was a time when less people knew what they are . Awesome skis. , can’t wait for a model that fits my needs .
 
Only people that actually care about skiing own them still, who cares if they are more popular. The more they sell the more great content we get from their riders.
 
Generally the only people I ever see on ON3Ps are like the people straight-lining mogul runs under the chair gapping huge trannys or hitting the sketchiest rails and generally being some of the most fun skiers on the mountain to watch.

The skis might be a bit more common now than like 5 years ago but definitely not seeing a correlation with Jerrys or posers or wannabe scene kids. And even if I did I don’t think that would take away from the fact that they’re rad because the brand is dope and they make bomber fun skis.

I say what up to anyone else I see riding em and pretty much every time they’re chill. Can’t really think of another brand (other than Moment) that people connect over like with ON3P.

Only place I ever see or hear about On3p is here on this forum, very very very few of the park rats and people in general have them here.

there are like 1 or 2 pairs for sale here each year on the used market, which is an indication.

Posted this thread to remind myself what Newschoolers really is. It’s 90% awesome people who love skiing and make an awesome atmosphere. But that last 10%? They’re all crusty has been troglodytes who lack the cognitive ability to consider anything outside their little comfy bubble and have been here since before time. Unfortunately it’s the 10% that have the most time to waste replying to dead threads and getting triggered like the cry babies they are, and therefore have the most content on this site. Idk about the east coast, but where there are real mountains anyone I've met who rides ON3P rips. Sure lots of people got into the game later, but I'm glad to not be the only person riding them anymore. I think it's a great sign too that their demographic is changing. I've seen more and more old dudes riding them and super stoked on skiing.

ON3P has had a pretty strong following on TGR since the beginning with the Wren, and Billygoat and the Woodsman was pretty much driven by demand over there for something between the Jeffery and the Wren. Along with other special editions like the Supergoat. There is a thread over 400 pages dedicated to ON3P.

Honestly why do people overanalyze shit like this so much. To me, a ski is a ski, whoever designed and sold it is almost irrelevant compared to how it actually looks and performs.

Jerry’s Rick everything out here

I’ve seen

Jeffreys, nomad 105s, soul 7s , bc120 and even a Corvus On hardpack groomers, Corvus worst of all, there are no slopes steep enough for that ski where I was, and a guy on bc120s was a def Jerry skiing on an ice rain day, and not enough snow to need more than 90 underfoot tho I’ve ridden low 100s consistently.

I’ve seen park gapers on on3ps as well.

I don’t have a problem with what ya ride, I don’t thin it necessary for any ski to stay within a certain demographic but certain skis are meant for certain conditions so buy a ski for you and what you do not for the hype and vibe.
