ON TOP OF THE HOOD!

seriously.. nothing to hate one..they put so much work into making this..and just put it out there for free..everything was really dope. I wonder what pollard thought editing to lil wayne tho.. ha..
 
Such a Dope movie. i loved the happy gilmore quote and all the music was great. Stoked on Sammy and Nimbus!
 
On Top Of The Hood:

+ Free movie from pro people

+ Great filming and editing

+ Spectacular scenery

+ Good skiing

+ Big airs

- Didn't really have any story on WHY they decided to film on top of the Hood

- As a non-hood visitor I would've liked to see HOW they got on top of the Hood

- Music choice at some points (only real music I heard was at 17:46-22:11 + some reggae was good)

- Trick after trick after trick got a little bit boring

Just some constructive critic, aye!
 
Surprisingly good!

The trailer looked so trashy, but that had some totally legit movie shots, some totally superb ones. And they just gave them away.

Nimbus is awesome, especially for being so versatile.

My personal preference is definitely their other stuff, but who cares.
 
For being a free movie it was really sick. I thought that the camera work and filming were way better than the actual skiing. The soundtrack was real good though.
 
i could watch pasty c, spriggs, and mahre in a movie all day long, that was sick, and i liked some of the guest appearances fo sho. BEST MOVIE YET , fucking sammy is the man, so is pollard , and to have them collab is so sick imo
 
less than 3, most of june was unskiable due to weather and late august they stopped filming
 
you guys are tripping do you know how much work every single feature took to build? then hike lapping it? so refreshing to see tricks over natural and new features. spriggs and sammy going huuuuuugeeeee
 
Holy shit that was bad! So disappointed. The only good segment was the last one. Eric pollard (my idol) I am sad. Please stick with nimbus and don't work with sammy again.

it completely flies over my head how anybody can hate on this. on top of

the hood was fucking amazing! I can't imagine how much time and effort

went into every feature,not to mention how short of a time it was all

filmed in. And the skiing was ridiculous......Pasty C just keeps pushing it

 
Okay okay yes i admit i was a little harsh. It was a good movie. Just kinda was shocked at nimbus' choice of extremely gangster music for the edit. I feel as hood is this mystical place that was represented fairly poorly. It is my home mountain and I grew up their, i love it to pieces but i feel like it was portrayed wrong. idk. hard to explain. definitely some ill tricks. I was taken aback cause it doesn't seem like nimbus except for the end which was sick!

I dunno man, the fact that it's free doesn't mean you can't point out ways they could've done it better. For my part, I'm wondering if there's a re-edit somewhere where they didn't put the entire movie in slow motion. I get that it's a shortie and you want it to stretch out to 26 minutes or whatever, but after a while, I start to feel like I'm watching an old MSP flick. Features were outstanding and skiing was good (especially Sammy which is no surprise), overall I def enjoyed watching it... but why does everything have to be a circle jerk?
 
slow-mo is ruining shit in general. every legit company has to slow-mo all of their shots to get the money's worth of their top notch cameras. its fucking retarded, if everything wasn't slow mo'd in a poor boyz movie for example, they could include twice as many shots

people are starting to export/ render all their footage in slow motion, eg. windells filmers

its bad and needs to stop. watching clips real speed is the way they were meant to be seen. slowing down part of a clip can be super legit but when your whole season edit is in slow motion, that's just not cool (especially for k-feds filmed with go pros).. doesn't make any sense

how can you expect people who don't ski to sit through videos where every shot is unnecessarily drawn out

 
quality shots, incredible scenery, somewhat boring simply because i prefer watching rails over jumps, but nonetheless it was dope as fuck

This is why I love my filmer buddy who started out filming skating. Death lens shots in real time is awesome on rails.
