OMG Hyland

Hyland was sooooo fun today. Perfect weather, groomed and nice setups. Ive only been getting out once or twice a week because I work too much and don't like the weekend madness. But I usually ride weekdays from open 10am to like 1230 and then have to go straight to work. There is barely ever any skiers out there at that time? Is everyone here in school? Some people should try to get out there then. I usually ride by myself or with some boarders I know who can make it. But I would love to sesh and get hyped with some other skiers. Plus, that is THE time of day to be there. NO lines, NO waiting, just laps and laps and laps through the park that has just been groomed so nicely. Please come!

i sometimes have dreams about not having the same school hours as every other kid in the minneapolis area who goes to hyland. consider yourself lucky

i usually make it tuesday and wednesday between 1-3ish, its so nice w/o 100 14-18 year old gypsies flying all over the place. no bomb holes and the freedom to not have to worry about landing on or being landed on by some 15yo hyped up on caffeine.

all the skiers seem to be respectful at anytime during the day though. i really like their setup now on the smaller side. long rail into flat box then mailbox, or pencil rail into chill pill is fun. wish there wasn't that ridiculous shotgun rail up to the chill pill though. then the flat down into small rainbow never gets boring. going tomorrow at 1, first time back in a week after tearing an edge out.

Yeah ive met a few people there before who have all been real chill. Today there wasn't a single other skier in the park though. I do enjoy riding with snowboarders but its hard to get pumped about a trick or talk to people about learning a new trick. Anyways, yeah the set up is cool now, I don't go that huge usually but I was hitting the smaller of the 4 big jumps most of the day today. So fun and when its fresh groomed its just way easier and comfortable to throw stuff off of. I felt really comfortable with 5's and 7's but I wanted to try some corked stuff and I had no one to talk to about it, poor me.

I didn't have a job most of last ski season and I do have to agree Hyland is so much better before it gets mad crowded but when there is only 10 people in the park what are the odds another is a skier.

sent you a pm.

i gotta agree. both hyland and elm creek are soooo dialed right now. if you were going to force me to complain about something... hyland could use more jumps in the small park, but honestly i wouldnt change anything right now!

Can't wait to try hyland, I found out I get free lift tickets from my school, just gotta make it to the guys office when hes in

after today, ive come to the conclusion that they fucked up the landings compared to a week ago.

long rail, mailbox, and small jump line need landings farther out and higher like they used to be.

then you needs tons of speed to even get to the landing of the pencil rail.

everything is still so much fun, today was a good time. i like how they groomed out the sides of all the pads

i like to butter were you wearing the yellow snowpants today? I was in the purple helmet

the landings on the small jump line do need to be pushed out a little further and they definently don't flow as well as they used to but who cares. Its a ton of fun right now

Well if you want to ski with other skiers, go anytime other than right during the day, on tuesday and thursday nights from 630 to 830 there at least 90 skiers there thats not an overstatement, and im there all the time just not during the day

yeah im trying to convince more people to come during the day. people who can at least. im not trying to get kids to skip school. ive been evenings and weekends and i just cant take it. too many kids, things arn't too fresh. not trying to sound like a douche, but its so nice durning the day and once you get used to that time, its hard to feel comfortable during the rush.
