HOW COULD THEY DECIDE WHO WON BY SMS??? HORGMO THREW DOWN ALOT BETTER THAN RICE AND THEN RICE WINS WITH A SKETCHY LANDING DOUBLE RODEO WITH HORGMO THROWING A CLEAN SWITCH BS 12. ANYWAYS. THIS IS FUCKING UNBELIEVEBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY. OMG

Majority of pro boarders can throw 12's. It would've been more impressive in the pipe..
Rices' jump was much better I thought. Yea he scrapped a bit on his 3rd landing but his 2nd and 3rd jumps were better and the revert on the 2nd landing wasn't a foul-up. Crowd made the right choice. The foreigner didn't even cork his 12's, made it very boring.
 
It's big air....who gives a shit? The REAL travesty is that Allen Iverson made the all-star team.
 
you are right about the sms voting. sms makes it more of a popularity contest and gives the americans an advantage, but i do think that travis deserved the win.
 
I have to agree that the voting pretty much ruins the event. I personally think that Torstein Should have won for sure. There a a lot of riders who can double rodeo and in my opinion people like David Benedek look much better doing it. Torstein is the only person who can do that sw back 12 and make it look that good and grab through the entire thing like that. I also think its ridiculous that mikkel Bang only got 8% of the votes.
 
i must say i think to the general public doubles are more impressive than a switch backside 12. Horgmo was smooth, i dont agree with the sms voting style of judging. but i think travis deserved the win. I would like to have see one of his like 6 other double corks/flips.... the triple back late 180 or the switch backside double cork twelve would have demolitied. I was stoked travis didnt die on that channel gap
 
Travis won American Idol, good job.

Hopefully they will use the same judging system in the ski big air so you all will see how fucking stupid it is.. will the Americans vote for the American Simon Dumont or those weird guys from Scandinavia with weird names?

 
Yeah, because it was judged, how that did it last year, is they had a judge that picked, then the crowd vote, then the pro rider judge. Simon won the popularity last year...lost the other two, but now that it is just popularity, Simon will almost for sure win.

But...that jumps is so small it doesn't even matter. The pros should get together, realize how much of a joke this comp is, and just throw the steeziest trick they can, I would be 100% okay with Simon winning with a cork 3. But if he does like a twelve and it isn't the best and he wins....that just isn't cool.
 
I definitely agree. Coming from a snowboarder.Its all natural ya know. I bet Torstein could never double rodeo (well T Rices is more a backflip to rodeo 7), and on the flip side i dont think T Rice could Sw Back 12. Also i dont believe Torstein can do any other 12 (front, cab, or back). Its all what feels natural to you. Its sort of like how some skiers have the cheater spin (spin natural right and their switch spin is naturally switch left, or vice versa).
I think it really should of come down to the landing, and if i recall right Travis rice did revert, which is HUGE in snowboarding. I definitely was bummed when he won, because its more or less a popularity contest. I remember three years ago in big air Andreas threw an average front 10 (which was big back then), but Hampus Mosesson threw a clean double shifty 9, which is way harder and sicker than a front ten. But Andreas obviously moved on, because no on knows who Hampus is and he hardly competes. Thats the way the snowboard industry is.
Sorry for the rant, that just upset me as well.
 
i personally have given up on Winter X, i might still watch Summer X, but if they pull any bullshit in that, then fuck the X Games as a whole. I used to watch as a little kid and be stoke stoked about every event, but as soon as they start letting random people judge the competitions, I am fucking out. Like I said, I watched this stuff as a little kid, and yeah I was pumped on it, but that doesn't mean I was qualified to judge it, and I still am not. Neither are 99% of the people who were watching it. So fuck this juvenile consumer bullshit and let ESPN fuck themselves over, I'm done with Winter X, and I should hope the rest of you are too.

On a side note, it was more than good of Simon to admit that PK deserved the win, and to donate most of his winnings to Riley.

Does Sal even know who Riley Poor is?
