Why should skiing be in the olympics, and what benefit does it have for the sport. If you say that the olympics would give more coverage to the general population, then please explain how this is of benefit.
 
freestyle skiing will be known way better and more people will go skiing....you kinda answered your own question.
 
freeskiers live in a very very very small bubble , only a hand full of people (maybe a bit more) even know what skiers are doing there days. i can attest to this after having to explain to like 40 people at uni. what freesking is and that "no, skiing isnt gay" having 3 billion ppl see freesking in the olympics would get us much more recognition and respect. im all for it. the judging dint seem wach for snowboarding so im sure they'd get their shit together for skiing as well. plus more freeskiers on teh hills would be dope
 
Yea a benifit for me is not having to explain to people I don't snowboard I have skis with tips on both ends so I can ski backwards and land backwards off jumps and so I can do tricks ans slide rails. OR make it so I dont have to tell people I snowboard to save my self the above explination.

Also if skiing was more popular there would be more money for pros and more am sponsors for all the people on here who've already gotten pretty good and deserve some free shit.

the explanations blow. so yeh i wana see halfpipe on the biggest stage ever. show people we go just as big if not bigger.
 
I'm down for people to start realizing what skiers are doing these days, the sport is amazing and is reaching new heights that were never dreamed of 20 years ago. As for more people skiing I really couldn't give a fuck, just means more people on the mtn. that get in the way.
 
did u know that halfpipe def. wont be olympic in vancouver ?

they just wrote that in my ski mag :(
