for a paper im writing in school, im writing about whether or not Halfpipe Skiing should become an olympic sport for the next winter olympics. I got the idea from a fellow NSer to pole NS and see what everyone thinks, and use those as statisics in my paper. please respond with yes or no.

when you say nay you should give a reason......... why you dont want it to be in.... look how far it has progressed snowboarding.... do you think shaun white would say he thinks snowboarding in the olympics has ruined it? no he wouldn't

yay.......we always bitch that newschool park skiers dont get any cred......being put into the olympics kinda takes care of all the cred we need.....time to be taken seriously if u ask me.

The only reason you could say nay is so sking stays unique, I guess? Or you don't know the difference between nay and yay, in which case your retarded. YAY

ill back my Nay up. Newschool skiing needs to get its act togethor before we can have our athletes go to the olympics. I work with a lot of different sports that are olympic events and the training and preperation that takes place is 1000% times more than what the majority of our athlets are doing. To me it seems unfair for those athletes that work there ass off to get the olympics for a few potheads to get there. I AM NOT SAYING that all pipe skiers are lazy pot smokers. I know that some do train very hard to get where they are but its not tell everyone starts training like athletes that we deserve to be there and if they don't want to change to that then fair enough lets keep our sport how it is now away from the rules and regualations of these sporting groups. We have to prove we can be taken seriosly before we can go to the olympics not the other way around

yea but the difference between skiing and all those other sports is that it takes a little skill and lots of balls where in other sports it just takes lots of skill and practice, so you dont really have to train too hard in skiing if you have the balls to do everything, all you have to do is work on your consistency

i just like how skiing is still a niche industry. i wouldnt want to go the the mtn and see as many gaper skiers as gaper snowboarders because its the new thing to do, and tahts what it will be, just like snowboarding. its hard to explain the rest so im not going to try

^I think he's referring to curling

yay

I doubt this will happen before it is established as an olympic event...creating a new sense of competition would drive the sport further and demand a more serious attitude. I also think training should be considered relative to the sport...training for skiing halfpipe is not the same as swimming or any sort of endurance sport.

Yes and slopestyle should be in it too... You should email the Olympics people and tell them that they need to add Halfpipe and Slopestyle Skiing events.

Yay. But this survey won't support your paper at all. "Most skiers who ski halfpipe think that skiing halfpipe should be an olympic event" is a pretty obvious and shallow point.

yay. To the kid who said that they need to get there act together. snowboard pipe is in it and that's the same training so shouldnt skiing be in it too if snowboarding is as you would say "a little skill and lots of balls" and i would say that skiing is even more skill and even more balls.

im on the fence

I agree the cred would be cool

but i like the rep skiing has now

And i agree with the snowboardings in it why not us

but i dont want skiing to sell out like snowboarding has

definatly add ski-pipe. If track is good enough for summer olympics than skier-pipe is definatly good enough for the olympics

yay of course... if snowboarding can get into it why can't skiing?..i understand that snowboarding freestyle kinda started b4 skiing but who cares
