By 'no one watched it' are you referring to the millions of undereducated trash that would rather watch amateur singers and dancers than world class atheletes that spent their entire lives practicing for their sport's highest moment? Give me a break, just because more moron white trash decided to stay on the couch and watch a has-been singer, a fat wanna-be rapper and an angry gay Englishman rip the William Hungs of the world does not mean that the Olympics were a flop, or that Dancing with the stars or American Idol were more quality programming. It's sad that Americans wont support their countrymen and women competeing at the pinnacle of international competition. I dont care if it's curling or Giant Slalom the Olympics were a resounding success around the globe. The embarrasing thing is that if it doesnt involve shit blowing up, or a knock-down drag out fight on Springer, Americans won't watch it. A recent Powder Magazine article showcased the first FIS halfpipe competition in Europe this year. The French even have a team formed. It noted that the competition was the first step towards an Olympic event. However there are fears that it will get over-regulated similar to how anal moguls air scoring has been. Next stop Vancouver, the sport needs it, the Olympics need it, and God knows NBC needs more cheezey sob-story lines to fill up their hours of broadcasts instead of acutally showing the entire event, no matter what it was, as was seen in this past Olympics.
