Olympic Games 2014 (Sochi-Russia)

Okey so here is my question. I don't really want to know who is against who is not. I just want to ask if somebody got any OFFICIAL info or at least informations from a sure source about Ski Superpipe at Olympic Games. I know there is no chance to put Ski Superpipe in Vancouver in 2010 but I heared a rumor that skiers are doing a show contest at the same time when snowboard Olympic games contest is held. Is it true ? I couldn't find any specific and sure answers about it. I would be stoked if somebody could tell me if there is any chance they could put ski pipe in Sochi ? Like most of the other sports there was always a one show contest before olympics and then after vancouver they should accept new sports coming into another one. Does anybody actually know how it works ?
I'm asking because in Europe it would be an impulse to start making national team etc which could help some skier in their traveling, competing and gettin' better their skills.

the only way that it will get in for 2014 is

if people start there national teams.. and get the world cup firing ... people like tanner and dumont , boycot the events casue they hate the FIS , which i respect and for years i was like fuck the olympics. but ive finally come around and think it would be a great thing.

more fame to the sport = more money-= more surpport= more fun times to be had by more people.

soo the steps to be taken are

1) there must be national teams like the NZ, Canadaian (trennon is the man), French ect.

these teams must compete at every event

2) guys can tboycott events. the world cups must become as important as the dew tour ect

3) better people must be on boards Like national olympic commities, FIS, nationals ect.

4) I think that one person needs to stand up Like Jon or dumont or tanner and use there fame for the greater good of the sport.

Jon does it a little bit..but with out a leader a movement can only go soo far.
 


Also with Tanner being injured..

and the olympics this year.. he could use his time to hustle and create interest in the movement..

it must start now if its going to happen, Kudos to tanner he a great guy, and a fukin amazing skier

but instead of filming edits doing nothing with CAli p in park city

he could be at an FIS meeting tyring to get pipe in to the next olympics.

this is just an example. Not pointing fingers what hes does is his biz and not mine.

but in my opinion if people would like to see half pipe in the olympics.. some one has to step up now..

and for the greater good of the sport put 100% energy in to making it happen
 
FIS sucks, they would just turn halfpipe completely objective making it similiar to what moguls did for the hot dog movement. if pipe skiing were to ever be in the olympics it would clearly be amazing but i dont think it should be judged to FIS standards otherwise we would see skiers end up only working on the same tricks that gets them more points... even more so than now... which will end up stagnating the sport and make halfpipe like racing
 
Not true Szczepan, unfortunately. It did almost happen and the wheels were well in motion but due to some political bs it got shot down.

And based on what I'm hearing lately it sounds like there's a decent chance pipe will happen in 2014. We won't know for sure for a while though.

 
Pipe skiing should be in the Olympic Games in 2014. I don't think it will change it to badly like moguls. Look at Snowboarding pipe, its still legit. I do agree that we need someone pushing hard.
 
My Slovenian friend who is allready a national pipe skier and used to take part in World Cup in Le Conataminon or whatever you spell it said that some of the worker from Slovenian National Ski Association said most of the sports are accepted just at the end of the previous Olympic Games. That is what I also heard.
2nd think I don't know how does it work but as far as I know and as far as it makes sense most of the national teams get money from National SKi Associations so it means these are the money that we pay in taxes they use right ?

Am i right ? I dunno how it looks like in smaller countries or NZ etc.
Even though if You said there is a decent chance to have it in 2014 all we gotta do is to wait untill the Vancouver Olympic Games are over.
P.S. I still didn't get a replay so is there any pipe show going og for this olympic games or not ?
 
thats only if we let them have full control, some higher ups in the industry who know their shit should be heavily involved in rule making,judging, etc to make it true to the sport. Moguls died because it was out of touch with the rest of the sport...like aerials.
 
it really makes no sense why snowboarding can be in the olympics but not skiing.. It really comes down to hype.. they will market the shit out of snowboarding and once that hype dies down, they will bring on skiing and market the shit out of that to get the younger crowd watching. They are still riding the wave of snowboard halfpipe and need that to die down before they can introduce a "new event"..
