Olenick is now officialy a dick. When Belanger went down, he was like laughing and jumping around while everyone else was worried. And after Jon topped his 3rd run it looked like he was going to start crying. He's a great skier and all but I just lost a lot of respect for him

 
i never saw him jump around for phil, i dont think he knew the seriousness of phils crash or that he was hurt if he did react like that... pete is an awesome kid and i doubt he would of done that if he actually did, if he knew phil was really injured.,

olenick was deffenately stoked when phill crashed. weather he knew that he was hurt or not is the other question. but phill layed there for like 10 minutes and it kept going back to olenick and he had a smile on his face the whole time.

No, he was laughing and had a huge shit-eating grin on his face. And it was obvious how bad the crash was, there were two or three ski patrol people there and they carried him out on a sled. And Pete was still laughing and smiling, while Tanner was freakin out up in the top. Pete is a jackass, I've known that since I met him in March. This just proved that.

Olenick was still smiling and making faces at the camera when they carted Belanger out of the pipe. Don't tell me he didn't see that. He's a dick in my mind. I'm glad he got knocked by to third.

but he probaly totally screwed his knee by taking the next run- no discrespect to belanger but he looked scared to land on that second hit, like he tried to land kind of sideways because he was scared to put pressure on his left leg

Pete was so stoked to be in first, who wouldn't keep him from smiling? What do you think is more important to him, the fact that he's in 1st place in the biggest, most televised skiing event around in front of him home crowd... or the fact that belanger crashed? If I was in his place, I'd be too stoked to realise anything. Don't rob him of his happiness, fuckers.

I'm glad you can judge someones personality by wtaching them in a couple movies and watching television. Were you there? Do you know what he was thinking about or what was going on down at the bottom? You have never talked to the kid in your life, so saying that he is a dick is pretty damn ignorant of you. If you had ever met him or talked to him you would know that he is a pretty chill kid who definately wouldnt be smiling if somebody just ate it and blew their knee out. Nobody knew what happened when he went down, Olenick was stoked that one of hte sickest pipe riders in the world didnt take the top spot.

 
Also, Belanger is one of my favorite skiers, I was fucking sad to see him go down, but Pete is a good skier too and his hard work is starting to definetly show, so I'm happy for him. Belanger is a god, losing an x-games event isn't going to make him lose any sleep, he heals well, takes the right amount of time off, Belanger is a god and that's that.

^no, geekypunk, you're an idiot. It was pretty clear after his first fall that he had screwed up his ACL, and he should know by now that dropping onto snow from 20 feet in the air with an ACL injury is asking for trouble. Sure, taking that last run was a badass thing to do and he deserves some measure of respect for it, but you can't deny the stupidity involved either.

1. First, those were cut aways, most likely filmed right after his run. Maybe he was busy doing his thing for the camera and didnt even get to watch Belanger fall.

2. Belanger messed up his left knee on run 2, then his right on run 3. He had to go for another run, gold was at stake. And for you to listen to the queer announcer dudes who have made the same mistake as you is freakin retarded.

Pete was in first, stoked and elated to the fact that he was in first, in his home town, against the likes of Tanner, Jon, Simon, etc., etc., give the guy some credit for his accomplishments. Tanner, and Jon were shocked at what happened, yet they were up top watching from a live feed, where as Olenick was just in celebration of his sick run. No matter who you are, or how good you might be, you always feel bad for the guy that jacked themselves up, I know that, you should know that, Tanner and Jon showed that, so what, do you think that Pete is just such an ass that he is the only one who thinks otherwise? If so, grow the hell up, and realize that in the heat of the moment ANYONE would be going nuts, and a hard wreck is something that comes and goes. Pete probably wouldn't wish that on anyone, it happens!

 
i noticed that too. i thought for sure he would say something about phil crashing, especially when the whole crowd started cheering when phil was brought down on the sled. i thought peter would wish phil a quick recovery or something, but he just kinda looked at him when he passed and kept talking about his run
