Matt... I have a proposition... I was wondering if you still had all the old style (from a year or two back) NS code/graphics stashed away somewhere... I was wondering if you'd let me host (provide space and bandwidth and all) an old style NS page where the old members can go and talk or something... Kinda a priveledged forum or something. I'd still load it up with links to the real board, and limit it in every way you want. It wouldn't take away from your hits or anything. It'd just be great for nostalgic feelings :-).... pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase :-)

i like the idea.. even if its just reading old material like the NS history stuff would be cool or extremely old threads or whatever.. something would be nice..away from big corporate NS of today :)

to tell you the truth we (the moderators and others involved in the site) are tired of all of the shit that goes down on the forums. so be prepared for some hardcore moderation. hopefully we can get back to the NS we all knew and loved.

and the old site still exists and this was proposed a long time ago and we tried to make it work adn it didnn't work.

I just sort of skimmed over this thread, so sorry if I'm missing something.. but how would I retrieve this snap shot? Back in the day, the forum was kept in little text files (yes, my coding has advanced a wee bit since then).. it's a cool idea, i just dont know how feasible it is..

if by chance you somehow got all this working and finally decided you DID want the old members to be able to TALK... who exactly would you let in ??? like first 4000 members or something... anybody who joined before 2002? forum only started goin downhill since summer and even then there are a very very very few number of people who arent whores.
