Spongebob episode from 1999 is on....is it fair to say that the quality of the old ones are much better than the new ones?
 
Probably so, in general Spongebob has had a long and awesome run, wonder how much longer it will last.
 
It was always targeted at a younger audience. You just thought it seemed more mature when you were younger!
 
No, before the movie was released they actually put quite a bit of adult humor and plotlines/subtleties kids don't tend to notice in the episodes. After the movie the original director left because he knew the show was out of plots so Nickelodeon replaced him with some other guy.
 
Agreed. Before the movie they were good, and for the next few years they were pretty good. Around the 2007 area they started to turn
 
I'd agree. Even know that I'm older, I think the humour is much more well done in the older ones, not just because I was young when I saw them. There's definitely been a few funny new ones, but in general the older ones are better.

Can somebody explain where the clip of him saying are you feeling it now mr. krabs is on this page? It's autoplaying from somewhere, but I'm not seeing it anywhere on the page. So much h4x

 
I agree with you, It was more creative doing something different from other cartoon's, Jokes were funnier, Wasnt so KID FRIENDLY.

I still laugh at the old ones, but not the new ones. Spongebob started going to shit about a year after the movie.
 
Spongebob was just on and I was thinking the exact same thing. I also realized that I laugh more at older Spongebob episodes now than I did as a kid.

Without a doubt. I got the trial for Hulu plus recently and watched some of the newer episodes and all the jokes just fell so flat. Didn't laugh once. Pretty much all the episodes from the first three seasons are still hilarious though no matter how many times I watch them.
 
Spongebob made my awesome childhood that much more awesome

His voice now is extremely obnoxious. It's way more high pitched and he sounds far gayer than he did in the first few seasons. Also the animation isn't nearly as funny as it use to be. Some of the facial expressions from the first few seasons were priceless
