i would rather ski pow. but we barley get those days

i have 4 pairs of goggles wiht liek 8 lenses.

ive owned all those companies.

i have had lots of jobs. to pay for all my shit..

im not worried, ill get new ones when mine break,

And why does that matter? He's supporting the industry and is probably loving the sport. But he's less of a person because he can't 3?

but i actually kind of agree with you...i dont care about getting new stuff all the time and no i don't wear tall tees, but i am doing what i like to do and where my skill set lies, not what i think i should be doing or where i think i personally can move the sport...its about skiing, not freedom of expressionwhichbecomeseveryonedoingthesamethingandwearingshirtssolongthattheygetkneeprints...skiing is about sliding on snow with skis either wear what is comfortable and warm or thow on your saga and jiberish, its all about how you wanna enjoy it im sure there are people who get more benefit personally from they way the look than getting faceshots and hand dragging through pow, but thats them and your the one who's having fun the way that you want to!

Can't say I'm an old schooler, but I don't have the money to buy new stuff every year, or even semi-regularly. I have to make everything last for several years until it doesn't work anymore.

I define myself, I do like to ski pow more than park, I own one pair of goggles, I still ride 08 silencers, I don't own Jiberish, FD or Saga. I do wear baggier outerwear because i dont like snow down my ass crack, I do respect the industry and where its going. The world is caught up with this idea of SWAG... and so is the skiing world.
But what I do, is ride for the love and thats why i call myself is a skier.

Hello, my friend! I fit each one of your categories to the T! haha yuuuup im there. I think it's an age thing, i remember 10 years ago all i liked was rails and park, now all i like is sean pettit sections and rediculous lines and park moves in pow/backcountry. park doesnt even impress me anymore. its a gorwing up/appreciated the outdoors thing i reckon.

I grew up a park rat on the east coast then went to college at Boulder. I immediately realized that I loved the ungroomed terrain that was out there. I still hit jumps and rails but no longer take it seriously like I did at one point.

 
I love both park and powder, but park is where my heart is. I love it. Don't get me wrong, when those few pow days come along they are the best days of the year on the EC and I love skiing in the woods.

I have 3 pairs of goggles; one with a low light lens, one with a sunny day lens, and a back up/ old pair that are super scratched.

I like Jiberish and Saga and First Drop, I own something from all of them. But I really only buy something if I really like it / need it. I don't replace my old stuff, I add too it and when my old stuff wears out, I already have something else to use. I don't plan on buying anything new from any of them this year.

This one I completely agree with you on. I ski my skis until I need new ones. I hate seeing kids at my home mountain in CT getting completely new everything every year when their old stuff is perfectly fine. I just replaced my 08 Chronics with a used pair of Cryptonites. I always search for the bargain on skis, and I am a little guilty of buying a few pairs of skis that I don't need, but I am changing now. Trying to spend less on ski equipment until I actually need it.

I like tall tees, tall jackets, etc. If it's not your style, then don't wear it!

Everyone shakes their heads at shitty threads.
 
I live in PA where it is either groomers that take 20 seconds to get down or park. You seem to be a fortunate east coaster and live in vermont where you have the option of trees. Whenever I head north I also ski trees 90% of the time not giving a fuck about conditions. I guess that point that Im trying to make is "Im from the east so all i can do is park" because for some of us it is true.

4th year on my skis, other skis for powder have over 3 mounts becasue i got such a deal on them (waiting for em to explode),

4th season with the same snowpants and jacket,

one pair of goggles from at least 7-8 years go, might need to upgrade on those sooner than later

4-5 year old boots
 
yes in pa. but if you live in vt, maine,new hampshire and upstate ny you should have options. probably should of said that. earlier.
 
I totally agree with you on your last couple points.....seriously...if you dont like the tall clotihng don't wear it. There will always be spoiled kids no matter what sport you are in with those kids always getting new gear come a new season. Some people like park, some like pow, some like moguls and some like racing. I can see your point OP with trendwhores and the kids that actually are there just for the show but a mojority of skiiers just like a style and rock it while they ski..doing what they love!
 
If there's powder, I'll ski it. If not, I try to ride park, but i suck ass. I am way better at carving down trails at high speeds.

I own one pair of goggles.

I don't even own a pair of skis, I usually rent for the season.

I wear clothes that fit with the sleeves a bit long.

I wear brands of outerwear that function, like being waterproof.

What the fuck is the point of tall tees anyway????

 
I was hoping this was gonna be a classic rock thread or something not the normal crap that shows up on ski gabber..... now I'm dissapointed
 
with you for the most part.

I 100% always take pow over park. I never once even saw the park this past season, I was too busy on my new pow skis all season to care.

I have one pair of goggles but I will be getting another pair as soon as I find a pair I like.

I have one Jiberish shirt, but a lot of Armada shirts.

I have a job, I hate it at the moment but it's still a job.

I do care about skis. I got a sweet new pair for Christmas/birthday and I literally love them more than I have ever or will ever love another human being on the planet. Not even joking in the slightest.

I wear what I want and what is comfy. I actually like to purposely mismatch and clash and break all the "style rules" or whatever. I love wearing sweet t-shirts like my glow in the dark Tron shirt and my batman shirts.
 
im not an "old" newschooler, but im with ya. I dont see the need to spend hundreds on new cloths every season. If i have a huge scratch on my skis... well then i put some epoxy over the scratch and they are good as knew. I enjoy skiing for what it is and not what i spend on it
 
Hardly;

The only ones that I actually fit into are the ones about saga and big clothes. That's it.

I work everyday just so I can afford my one pair of skis, my one pair of goggles and the gas to get me to and from the mountain.

I just don't like seeing people complain and complain about these little, trivial, details about skiing that really do not affect them in any way. This is Newschoolers, like it/accept it or get the fuck out.

Just wait man...My dad doesnt even like skiing with me on a pow day anymore cause i usually end up taking a nap at the bottom of the run lol

but... I wear tall tees, saga, and have new skis.
