Quality of forums and comments, maybe.

Quality of the site as a whole, not so much. The bigger NS gets, the more we are offered, for free.
 
well that's what I meant. We, the members, have gotten loads of new features of the years, and NS has become an incredible skiing resource. So they've been doing nothing but good on their end.

however, the overall quality of the posts and things done by members has gone down.

When did they revamp the site? I joined at the beginning of 07, pretty sure I remember it like it is laid out now. I could always be wrong, that's close to 5 years ago.
 
We actually used to re-design the look every year, however we stopped doing that after the big re-design last summer.

That screen capture would have been taken roughly in about 2005 or so. We woul dhave re-designed the layout of the site every summer....

So Since then its changed I guess 4 times? Since 2007 likely you've only seen two or so re-designs.

Now, with each one we've gotten closer to something we really like, and with the one we did in 2009 we got to where we wanted to be.

Instead of wasting a billion hours re-designing the look of the site, now we're focusing on fixing backend features. So for this winter you won't see a new look, but a few of the features will have gone through a major overhaul.

Man, its crazy to see the site like that. Those days about 96% of the traffic was into the forums. Now its closer to 40%-50%.

Plus, at the time that photo was taken our traffic was probably like 50,000 unique visitors per month... last 30 days we've done almost 350,000.

Lots can happen in 5 years eh?

 
i remember i used to come on from time to time when it was the graffiti logo. cant really remember much of the layout from in between then and now though... anyone have that? completely drawing a blank.

i was trying to find my profile in the web archive thing and somehow went back even further before i had an account

I miss that shit. I remember when I went camping for a week and came back to like an all new site with a new logo, I was shocked.
