Older generations have always ripped off everyone before them it’s always been that way, dudes in 2014 wore outfits with track pants identical to dudes in 1999, the tall t era was ripping off 90s rappers, if anything the current wave of small DIY companies is way more creative than anything saga ever released. A lot of it looks like dogshit but hey at least it’s different

Alot of the new baggy pants look like cheap bullshit imo. Ya ya ya support underground rider owned business, whatever.... You gottta earn the support, not going to buy from you just because you're small. Product needs to be worth the money. Again im not a tree hugging hippie that gives a damn about the freeski industry, so my opinon might be a bit different than yours! cheers, them pants look like shit.

it's kinda funny cause calling people "oldheads" sounds so 90s, like something dj jazzy jeff and will smith would say

i gotta say i won't be surprised any time someone doesn't "get" 90s shit if they weren't around for it. shit was so corny back then but it was also an interesting and uniquely optimistic time in a lot of ways

for me the 80s is the corny shit i just can't wrap my head around, not having been there haha

You don’t like 80s music??

oh i love some of it! but some 80s stuff is just so corny i can't understand it. maybe i just don't do enough coke, who knows

My theory is the 80s was a weird time because there was a lot of new technology, but it wasn't refined and no one knew how to use it. It's obvious in cars and music, where it feels like they were thinking in 2010 but couldn't figure it out yet. It wasn't until about 1995 that electronic music became modern by today's standard. The 90s is my favorite time period in music, but I also get why people wouldn't understand it.

Sagas not cool, 3 xl hoodies are not cool, surface swaps are super cool, small tops with baggy pants are cool, talk T is mid, trap music is cool. You guys need to accept that the style is changing cry to me in the replies idc.

I don't think a lot of old heads and newgens realize the hypocrisy of this all. Everyone dresses more closely related to the late 1990s and early early 2000 now. The Oakley Software collection is a good reference. When a old head brings up the golden era and shows you a ski vid talking about this is how park skiers should look. Show them an even older movie of Candide and THall wearing the clothes of their time. Most of those dudes in the Golden Era are wearing baggy clothes but they've sized it up properly and are rarely wearing super neon colors. It has always been the local rookies over exaggerating stuff and ruining it. IN EVERY ERA. I still can't believe some of the color pallets SAGA was using back then and we ALL wore it and loved it. Talking about how we miss it. Then we go watch a old ski vid and anyone who had a sense of "style or look" wasn't wearing those colors. I'm actually happy we got past the 80s neon revival. Everyone looked ridiculous.

Another paragraph... Getting mad at Gen Z for everyone looking the same and having no originality... While also growing up during Skullcandy Icons, Oakley goggles, Scott poles, and First Drop era. We all looked the same. It will always be like this. You can wear what you want to wear. If someone wants to ski in skinny jeans let em. If they want to wear super baggy harlaut pants and a Tall-T let them. I have some locals at my hill that look absolutely ridiculous and have "bad style". But imo they have great style. I like to watch people ski how they're supposed to ski. I don't wanna see someone trying to "look" a certain way. They're still good skiers they just happen to not overly be obsessed with fawning over themselves in their photo reel about which hoodie looks better. But if they land a trick sloppy they'll hike back up and try to get it cleaner. They still abide by the same rules. One homie went to 7 springs and all the locals went up to him and said "your style is wack". I just told him "yeah, but you can 2 pretz 2, they can't. Who's the one who's really wack". Skiing isn't a sport or activity everyone can afford, and not everyone has "taste". But if you're out there, skiing. That's all that matters. Who really cares if you're wearing the "coolest hottest new skis of today" if you can't actually ski. Buy a pair of cheap volkls, get whatever snow pants you can afford from walmart. And get out there and do a 180. When some dude tries to harass you for not being Y2K enough or not sagging your goggles enough. He's weird and tbh the only people who care about that stuff are the ones who aren't actually good.
