Old people need to be screened more often for shitty driving. Honestly, i'm scared to ride my motorbike sometimes, due to all the geriatric people who blow at driving.

B.C Canada makes a big deal about new drivers and learning drivers. All I care about are OLD DRIVERS. They're extremely dangerous, something needs to be done to screen for people who have age-related cognitive decline to a point where driving is dangerous for others on the road.

Just today i just about got hit by a fucking old person.

- At an intersection, when the light went green, i turned right from my side into the right lane. The old person in their car on the OTHER side of the intersection turned right also, but decided to swap lanes IN the intersection. So the old person turned right into my right lane instead of the left lane she was supposed to turn into. Ran me into the bike path. I mean, it's pretty fucking obvious not to swap lanes in an intersection.

on the other hand, the old folks can also complain about all the young whippersnappers texting and driving....
 
my grandma drives with her shoes off an she texts while shes driving and uses both feet and one hand its really scary she hit a man in castle rock the other day
 
Well, you're still pretty much blind looking down at a phone/ipod/whatever. So its really not much of a difference, only younger drivers have the time to develop and shake those bad habits, And old people can croak at any second.
 
we need background checks for people over 60 buying cars. scratch that not back ground check medical record check.
 
I think my grandma has to take the test every two years.... she is 87 now and it always stresses her out. She lives on her own and without being able to drive would have to be in a home or something.
 
First, think about how you guys will feel when you turn 60. Then you have to take a road test and if you fail your drivers license is taken away.

I wouldn't be too happy about it being taken away.

...but as of right now I agree with everybody...
 
I would petition for all asians and old people to have their licenses taken away...

but then again I live in boston so pretty much everybody should have their license taken away.
 
I think it's every 2 years when you're 80+.

Realistically texting while driving is a way bigger danger
 
yup. they are reckless and such, but they also have the cognitive ability to make fast decisions and the mental reflexes to respond to fast situations
 
Yeah, I'm all for it. I've seen a lot of shitty drivers who really shouldn't have a license, especially considering how crappy road tests used to be.

 
Without a doubt. I just went through that stage in life and I did some stupid shit behind the wheel.
 
For real. I mean I'm 17 and I'll let my driving speak for itself (though I'm confident I don't drive like a fucktard) but people at my school drive like retards. I'm shocked some dumb broad in her audi hasn't broadsided my ass yet.
 
Pretty much, the same dumb bitch has rear-ended me coming out of the school's parking lot... within 3 month period.

I'd say I'm a pretty good driver, but doesn't everyone think that?
 
It's just frustrating. Young drivers often fuck up.

But old people scare me

Quite a bit more. They just don't register anything.

Any part of the road is free game to them.
