So i just got a brand new pair of Chronic Cryptonites and my roommate has an old pair of skis he hasnt used in a while and he said I could take the bindings of his and use them if I wanted. They seem pretty good they are Salomon S912ti on his ooooooooooold teneighties. Pretty scratched up since they are so old but Ive ridden his skis before and they held up fine to me (ie no unnecessary releases or problems).

Is it worth it to use them or should I not risk puttin on something thatll break and instead just fork over a few hundo and buy new ones?

s912s will be fine, they're basically an older version on the STH 14 Driver (yes, I said 14 - the s9xx [i.e. 912, 914, 916] series is stronger than normal bindings, so make sure you have the DIN checked properly). As long as all the parts are there (which if they're already on a ski, they should be), they're good to go.

I don't think i've ever bought a new pair of bindings. Nothing wrong with old clamps as long as you get them adjusted properly.
