First triple on skis? Norway's aerial team do triples for breakfast. To claim a first "freeski triple" it has to be on a freeski axis(cork, flat) and grabbed. But huge props to the guy for hucking a triple back, he must be stoked.

But obviously aerialists have been landing trips in Norway for years.
 
as a "triple" in skiing, no it doesnt. triple cork/rodeos are extremely harder than a triple back.
 
Good question. I just saw this on facebook and posted it, so we will have to wait and make sure he actually landed it. I just got real pumped for Ola when I saw this because he is such a good guy and wanted to get him props right away (hopefully not premature with the landing claim). Hope he stomped it and can't wait to see the landing. I'm guessing they are saving it for the movie they are making.
 
A blunt cork 3 is way harder than a simple 360, but they're both still 360's. It's just an easy triple. Still a triple.
 
LOL EHEATH IS FAT, but seriously shut the hell up he's telling the truth, a straight triple backflip is not that amazing by any means. For sure props for doing that on a park jump and what looks like landing though but I wouldn't really call a straight over triple back a true triple. P.S. eheath can probably ski better then you can so get off his back

There's an aerials world cup in Norway in March, maybe they'll do the second thru 20th triples in Norway.
 
Anyone who says this doesnt really count is a pussy. Tripples are tripples, a trip back in my books is FUCKING LEGIT!!! If its so damn easy to huck a tripple lets see you guys put out and lets see the vid.that is all..
 
You're missing the point. Triple backflips have been done for years. So has jumping on skis, or 360 heli mogul jumps. The thing is we are a newschool site that do newschool tricks. Just as we don't give a shit when an aerialist does a quad quad.

Yes, a triple back flip is a triple flip. But a "Triple," in the way that it is used on this site, refers to a newschool trick. A trip back is not newschool, not in the same game as a trip cork, and therefore should not be claimed as a "triple." It is irrelevant in a newschool discussion. This is the same reason why a wack flip gets less respect. Rather than using a newschool axis (cork, rodeo, bio, etc) its three backflips, tweaked out.

That being said, that triple back flip was sick. It is not a newschool trick but it is ballsy as fuck and hard to do. Style and axis is what makes our segment of the sport. Don't forget that. No matter what those text in idiots at the x games say about Dumonts double front beating Jon.
 
Was it a triple? Yes.

Was it the ugliest trick I've seen in a while? Yes.

Nice hucked n tucked double knee grab, this should have been in the latest Guac Sundayz.

And NO props for trying, that was just dangerous/foolish as shown by that second vid's backslap. Try it into pow if you must.
 
It was not landed.It was posted on Jibbin forums by a friend of the guy who did the triple. He says that it was not landed. Also, another angle was posted there:
