Okemos Parks ... Reply to this !!

Whats goin on ? Ok ive herd alot of complaints dont you guys have any good things to say ? Like that new staircase is pretty sick... anything ??? It cant all be that bad. Well due to crappy weather we havent been able to change much in the parks hopefull the weather will coroperate , we are planing to get some work done on all the parks . I just built a see saw jib ! For those of you who like silly things like that. As far as other new stuff its harder now then ever to get into the welding bay so who knows when I could build new stuff. Well thats it for now so lets hear what you LIKE about our parks so I can pass that on as well. See you on the hill !

i dont kno who has been talkin shit about okemo but i like the set up, the rails that are up are really nice, pipe is good, my only complaint was the lips of the jumps didnt match the landings very well but you could still hit them and when i went before the lips were great, i think okemo has def been throwing down this year

okemo is doing well especially what i hear compared to other resorts. My only problem is to make the jumps more trickable and make more tables (less step downs)

the picture of nor'easter (the main park) for people who don't ski okemo.

^wow that picture if very distorted. go to okemo's homepage if you wanna see the picture in regular size

Im glad that you got the see-saw up. Now i just wanna see the S rail and C rail

the swing set not the see saw... i point that out cuz i actually juat made a see saw! Not sure how it will ride but should be fun to fuck around on! Thanks for the good feedback , now in the meeting we are gonna have I wont have all bad things to say !!! see ya on the hill

Rails are all really sick. Pipe is perfect as always. Jumps are better but still too small. Stairset is real nice. Maybe another good feature next to the pipe. You need to groom the transition to the wallride every night or else it will get mess up like it was a week ago. Shovles are not as effective as a cat. It looked nice on the weekend but everything was ice so I didnt hit it. Make that spine at the top of nor easter a table. Its not really trickable because you have to hit it with the perfect speed or you die. Overall very sick this year.

Agreed...rails, pipe, boxes, staircase are all perfect. A lot of the jumps on Nor'Easter could use some work though...kinda weird takeoffs & scooped out landings.

What I really want is a hip like Stowe has in their Tyro park. I saw the picture in the NS Parks Report & started drooling! The hip at the top of Nor'Easter is weird...not big enough and not angled enough or something.

yea the hip gets really icy. I think that the lips to the rails should just be cleaned up a little, for example look at the lips at Avila and how clean they are. The same goes for the jumps, they just need to worked on more. I understand people want to hit new stuff, but i think the park crew should spend a little more time on building the jumps and making sure they are perfect.

I just wanted to say keep up the good work. I usually don't get to ski a park of Okemo's caliber and I was amazed when I went. The staircase and c-box were super fun. In noreaster I really like the flow and the u-box. I think the park was absolutely incredily.

themarks, have you not read any of the threads? No one is complaining about the rest of the park, we have all complained on one specfic aspect; the jumps. Everyone agrees the rails and pipe are sick. We have said it countless times, you need to work on the jumps.

BUILD BIGGER JUMPS, thats my only complaint, i sent pictures to norm of what i think are good jumps, other than that shits epic. new staircase is ill, truth rail is crazy sick, great choice putting it that high, just please build big tables, if you need the pics again message me and ill send them, check the vail tables from us open, they have pics from the sides of the jumps, thats what they should be like. other then that props on the park, by far the best its ever been.

as do i... that picture is actually one of the best setups i have ever seen at okemo...usually the park doesnt have a flow.. but that looks like you could do the whole thing in one run without stopping

Thanks for the feed back !! I know you guys dont bitch about everything it was bringing me down a bit cuz it seemed as though nobody had anything good to say and I knew it couldnt all be bad. Anywho update ... the see saw thing seemed to be a hit , it was built for hot dog thats why its so small . Im gonna build a bigger one for the zone probably at least 20ft. Im gonna take the old double step down and make a techy flat down shorter flat down. Should be pretty sick. Check out tomahawk if you havent already its got a snowcross setup . (rollers and berms) Thats bout it for now ... see ya

Mark

whats confuseing about that ... im gonna take the steel from the double step down and make it a flat down flat down , but the second flat shorter then the first. Does that clear it up ? id put a sketch in for ya but i dont know how

if you're planning on making a dfd my only suggestion would be making the kink a bit less mellow than the current one, so it's legit.

make crazy urban style shit with steep kinks and legit urban style jumps, truth rail is illin by the way, please keep it really tall like that, and PLEASE PLEASE build bigger jumps, i will pay you money to build one big jump like the us open jumps or anything like that, i sent norm a bunch of pictures of illmatic jumps, please build one.

if the dfd we have was any more mellow it woud be flat. thats gonna end up at blind faith . i think a fdfd would be pretty "urban" I got the idea of makin one from a street rail picture

killa, make a dfdfd setup urban, now that would be epic. but seriously, we dont need new rails even though they are nice to have, we need JUMPS, that are nice!

s-rail going up any time soon? Maybe another jump where the flat down box is now and just move the box over to the side. Sick park this year.

both of the step downs, especially the first one in the park are terrible investments in snow you should build a table or step up that has a smooth landing.

all the rail slide well and there is sooo much stuf up its a nice park jsut the issues with the lips on jumps. also the flat down flat has too big of a jump on for most people to hit without flying off the back end. Are you guys gonna put up a lower box for people to learn spins on to?

you guys need to notice everyone loves the rails, but thinks the jumps are lacking, if you havent already, step up the jumps to the level of the rails and the park will be sooo rediculously epic.

Hey mad props to the park and pipe manager of Okemo for coming on NS and asking for feedback. Whether or not Okemos park is good its great to see that its important to them, to have a sweet park.

was at okemo today, jumps were awful, rails were amazing. The takeoffs on the jumps were terrible. too steep and too lippy. also why are the takoffs so rounded, i dont like it. also kickers are too big for the tables they are on. First jump i hit i got messed up by the lip and overshoot by like 10 feet. Fix your jumps and the park will be unbeatable.

i was at mount snow yesterday. their jumps dominate yours. also they have a mini, small, medium, and large terrain park. you should look into something llike that if snow allows because im sick of kids who cant ski going through noreaster. i remember when exhibition used to have a terrain park that seems like it might be a good place to put a small. and the halfpipe area needs more jumps less rails. get ride of that seesaw or make it so its at least not a ride on.

your rails are sick tho keep it up with those

well... lets see ... I dont have a say in everything and how it gets builtor where .its tuff for reasons i cant really say . I would like to go out and change atleast some of our jumps , . But bare with me and ill see what I can do ...

jea please help out with building the jumps, if you want pictures of good jumps or i could get the whole crew of kids who ski okemo every weekend to come and help while theyre building them or anything to help make them better, were totally down, whatever it takes to get them at least like the east coast open jumps last year.

the s-rail is also up this morning on nor'easter, off to the side between the last jump and the vert wall - pics this afternoon or sometime tomorrow...
