Okemo's park rated #14???

So I am reading the latest issue of freeskier and they rated the top 18 parks in North America. Okemo came in at 18. I rode at Okemo this past winter and I thought the park sucked balls. The rail jumps were not well maintained and the wallride was completely unhittable. The largest jump (about 50ft?) was pretty well maintained but that was about it. Most of the other jumps were pretty sketchy, and the pipe was average.

this might be becuaste he managment split up into two resorts, they bought out crested butte in colorado so theyre running two resorts, let alone ski hills. kinda a sad excuse but hey

no way. okemo had the best park in my opinion BY far in vermont. I mean shit it was still solid like april 10th top to bottom this list is def correct. Mt Snow's park wasnt too promising but I loved the flow of Okemo and their jumps kiked most mountains ass cuz they had sooo many of em! Their pipe is sick too! I dont see why you hate this shit. Also okemo set the jibs up WELL actually made sense unlike mt snow.

haha but that being said im still gonna goto mt snow just cuz their new park this year and the fact thats its closer for me. ha

what east coast pipes are you skiing that makes okemo's just measure up as "average?" EASILY in the top 2 pipes in the east... and no, you cant count VT open pipe as stratton's pipe. its only there for a couple weeks.

and, even though the park rangers might be asleep somewhere and not raking takeoffs, the rails are pretty damn decent.

christ man, its not like they put okemo in the top 5. lay off.

Okemo has the best pipes in the east almost always, Stratton and whiteface(snowboard world cup) have better ones after the major comps but otherwise okemo owns them. I would really like to see that list.

you have probably not ridden anywhere other than vermont then. 18th for northamerica is very high for Okemo. I live on the east coast and yes okemos pretty dope but everytime i have gone out west the parks have easily been better. And most mountains out west have two or three parks better than okemos main. I love the east too man but you have to face it, our parks just dont measure up.

Okemo easily has one of the best pipes in the east. It gest cut more than any other mountain and theres a t-bar right next to it. Its icy most of the time but thats not okemos fault.

nah u just suck so u didnt hit any of the good shit beacuse it was to dope for you. Okemo had the best park in the east coast and it should disever that spot

the last day was really fun, and the preseason, middle season was not that fun. but i still like okemo, accept they need to hire the dude from vail or build jumps jsut like the ones at the vtopen or eastcoast open 2 years ago

i only skied there a couple days last year and it was good they also have the best pipe setup with the t-bar and the stairs were kinda cool

valid point. okemo was def dope, but dope for the east coast. 14 isnt too unreasonable they did have a long ass park with like 7 rails and 8 jumps in one run rnaging from 35 to 60 ft.

id say killy was better on the east but thats it.west mammoth, whistler, bear, vail, breck, keystone, winterpark,PC, aspen, and some others

mt snow rocked this year.. apparently inferno is too much for you to handle... that course top to bottom killed any park in the NE this year.. and the medium park was great for learning then takin it to the inferno... definitely ride other places before sayin okemo is the greatest.. as for all mtn.. okemo sucks.. every run is the same pitch..

you suck, youre all the same pitch. i went to mt snow a few times last year and wasnt impressed very much at all. and thats why i bought a season pass their this year....odd

apparently someone loved the flat landing and weak kick on the last jump on inferno and the amazing urban rail to start off that was wopping 9ft long. On and that tiny s rail on the table was setup so perfectly. ha. jumps with no kick are fun in inferno.

so call me oppinionated but i was realy disapointed by that park rating, breck was number 3, i could see to mamouth maybe, but seria at tahoe? come on! im sorry we only have 5 jumps, but come on, is that park ever not perftly prime? also, snowmass was rated higher than keystone and copper. i did hear one good thing from people who rode there last year, my friends who rode in the aspen open said that the jumps hadent been groomed since x-games 2 weeks prior. thats b.s. and i honestly hope keystone is not the number 8 or 9 park in the nation, lets face it people, all keystone has is rails and half the time there set up so horribly you can barely hit them. and when you can hit them the takeoffs get so rutted out it looks like youre going to die if you hit it. ive wrecked myself 4 times realy hard since i started skiing park and 3 of those times have been at keystone. they also suck at cutting a pipe and dont know how to space jumps, but thats another story.

WOW ... that was a bit to take in , thanks yall that support Okemo and to those who said it sucked well , IM sorry that you were disapointed , cant please everybody . I personaly think our parks we good , definitly room for improvment but there always is. As to spliting up management well thats is a false acusation. Tim and Diane buying C.B. had nothing to do with the Parks at Okemo. As to western parks being better well no shit they get 4xs as much snow we get. If it wasnt for snowmaking we wouldnt ever even open. And honestly our team of reangers is all snowboarders so we set shit up how we would like it. NO skiers even apply , I guess yall want sick shit but dont wanna work to get it. Sorry we had one skier work with us last year and sorry Sasha but all he/you did was wanna ski all day. So I have been on this site for over a year now and have takein all yall skiers advice/opinions and thats as much as I can do for ya ...

at least sasha tried (and isnt he doin it again this year)...and im tryin to convince my brother to do it to.

i would def apply to the job if i lived within 2 hrs of okemo. I love setting up jumps and such but that would be a killer commute

First - ratings in mags have more to do with who at a resorts marketing department knows the editor of the magazine best. it has NOTHING to do with your opinion...$ talks, comp tickets talk etc...

Second - Who cares? Really, why do you care? did you lose sleep?
