Okemo's jumps suck

Year after year Okemo sucks at making a decent table. Up until the east coast open last season when another groomer man came in and fixed everything they have never had a decent table setup and its getting lame. Okemo obviously has the funds I don’t see why they can’t just buy out a qualified groomer such as the dude from Waterville Valley. They just put up 3 more tables today that absolutely sucked dick, when we asked the park guy he said they didn’t have enough snow, well then make 1 sick table instead of 3 retarded ones, and start blowing some more snow. What’s the point of buying all those HDK tower guns if you aren’t going to use them. There is not one jump you can spin over 540 on without hucking like a faggot. dubya tee eff!

this is all so true....the new jumps are just shit.....step ups suck....especailly ones that are up like 5 feet and only 20 feet long. the second new jump has potential if they blow some snow, extend the deck back...so theres actually a deck, and then build a nice lip, it has the longest landing in the whole park. they also dont need to build some rediculous 80 foot jump. all we need is something thats like 45-50 feet with a long landing and a nice lip. thats it....not to hard

i would love to go to okemo i hit up killington every year and its amazing but when u live in NE PA youd be glad to have okemo

shut up, i live in fucking vermont and i expect decent shit. if i lived in some shithole like u and the other dude saying i shouldnt complain then i would expect less.

Okemo better get their shit together. I don't want a repeat of last year. I was hoping when the year started they'd be just like the ECFSO jumps but nope. If they don't change I'll be at Killington and Stratton

heres my overall opinion of okemo moutain resorts terrain park and pipes:

pipe- okemo has the pipe on lockdown, thats never a problem, except for the fact its always a huge chuck of ice, but what pipes isn't, okemo definitly has one of the best pipes in the east.

rails- the rails this year are ill, most of them are set up well, the new stairset is dope, could be a bit bigger but what can you do, the c box was set up real well now its kinds skectchy cause the jump is mad close, on noreaster all the rails are smooth except for the flat down flat box, that shit is so sketch, the jump is like 6 feet from the box, on that thing you wanna go as slow as possible since the kink is really abrupt, so the jump should be close allowing you to do that, because you have to come in so hot you clear the whole landing, the flat box is set up nice, the 40' up rail is perfect, the flat down box is in a spot where a jump should be, but is set up pretty nice, the trap box is way better this year but the setup could be better, the jumps on is abrupt and the landing is too close to the rail, the u box is set up as good as it can be but is a relativly useless feature, tree jib could be fun but the jump up to it makes it so you cant go high at all, the flat down rail is perfect, also the s rail and truth rail need to go up somewhere if possible since they are two of the best rails. overall, the rails are dope. oh and i almost forgot the wallride, it got the right kind of surface on it now, but the transition is shitty, when it first opened it was sick, easy to get to the top, now it like running into a wall. but overall the jibs are nice.

JUMPS- this is where the park is lacking right now and every year. the east coast open had the best jumps okemo has ever seen, they need to take note from those and places like waterville, stratton, and any place out west on how to build good jumps. the jumps right now on the top part of nor easter are decent, but not trickable, why not push all that snow together and make maybe two good 50 ft tables instead of 3 medeoker step ups and a small hip. on lower noreaster the first step down has a crazy lip, its smooth then you hit the lip and it kicks you wierd, and the landing is mad flat, that spot is illmatic for making a good jump cause you can make a huge landing, take adavantage of it, the next two tables are the best in my opinion, but they arent big at all, you cant spin more than a 5, again why not push both together and make one big jump, the last table is nice, but is just small in general so isnt great, plus its tough to hit and have enough speed to slay the wallride. overall i highly recommend okemo builds jumps similar to those of east coast open, look at other mountains that kill it with the jumps, i just went to waterville and their 45 foot table is amazing, check that out or any place out west and build them like that, and please make bigger jumps. Today a park ranger also told us that the big jumps will be on blind faith, PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT, no one wants to go to south face, please put them on noreaster with the rest of the good features.

Overall, okemo is killin it with the rails and pipe, the flow of the park is much better than in years past, improve the jumps and you got what may be the best park in the east.

-okemo. PLEASE MAKE BIGGER AND BETTER JUMPS. like ar5180 said, look at other mountains jumps like waterville or mountains out west. last year the eastcoast freeskiing open jumps were amazing. dont just make lots of small jumps, make a couple reaaaly nice big tables that flow. im not saying make them huge, but a couple decent 45-50 footers would be nice.

-take more time to build good jumps. make a lot of snow so you have plenty to build a nice jump(s). again, one really nice table is better than three bad tables that arnt trickable.

-DONT PUT THE BIG JUMPS ON BLIND FAITH!!!!!! put them on noreaster where all the other good features are.

-make tables instead of stepdowns. stepdowns arent really trickable. tables are.

-put the s-rail and the truth rail out. these are your best rails along with the new flat rail and the flad down. the stairset is nice.

again, the park this year is wayyyyy better than earlier "okemo built" parks. just improve on the jumps and you will have one of the best parks in the east.

it wasn't very dificult to figure out that I was implying that the park sucked up until the east coast freeskiing open, hence the reason I said I was hoping that the jumps would be like the ECFSO at the start of this year

ya i was there today the pipe was icy but not bad the staircases were sick and the c box but like everyone has said the step ups were a horible decision but the flat rail is problly one of the best features ive ever skied

-and also. PLEASE GET ALL THE FUCKING JOEYS OUT OF THE PARK. at least fence the park in very densely to make it hard for newbies to get in.

i just feel unsafe with all those people skiing all over the park that are not aware. im also tired of getting yelled at for almost "hitting" parents sons that are on the landing. its their fucking fault for taking their shitty kids in the park. pleeeease do somthing about this.

I'm pretty sure themarks works there, but I don't think he's not on very often. Better of emailing it, they're pretty good that stuff.

Hey guys , Mark here . So I take it you dont like our jumps . I have read you comments and will pass it on. I check this website pretty much daily. Im always wondering what people think about what we do , good and bad . We arnt done setting up the parks yet , still alot of work to be done. I should be gettin time to build more rails/boxes. And gotta fix old stuff. Anywho thanks for the input I WILL pass these comments on. Its tuff alot of snowboarders love everything jumps included , it seems as though skiers like stuff set up a lil bit different. I personally think our parks are pretty damn good , and you stratton fans well... they dont have their pipe open and SMS was here for 3 (three) days straight because their Mtn. sucks and they dont care that they suck.I thinks we all should be happy we have as much as we do alot of Mtn.s dont have anything. Well Im outta here ... See ya on the hill ... Mark

i dont see why snowboarders like those small jumps. I believe Nor'easter is a "superpark" if im not mistaken, and it should include at least 1 decent 45-50 ft jump.

I always hear that but they are not you are pressed for now, but then u go and push huge mounds of snow together and make a shwag step up....they got to go. Puah that snow together and make at least 1 legit tabletop. that just what i think. the step ups may be smooth but not trickable at all for skiers and snow boarders alike.

i agree with ar5180 and vtski03. and basically everyone else. rails are good..we need tables instead of step downs

dont get me wrong i like the park alot, by far the best it has ever been, and the jumps arent bad, i just think they could be better, i just dont want you to think i dont like the park, cause i do.

LOOK basically we need bigger jumps to do ill tricks. The illest trick one can pull currently is a 540. I would like to see big enough tables for 9s and 10s. I remember hearing how much more the snowboarders liked the tables that were modified for the east coast open last year, so it’s surprising to hear that they are satisfied with the current setup. …But the rails are sick as always

yeah, the rails are sooo nice right now. again, the "noreaster superpark" isnt a "snowboard" park. Its supposed to appeal to both skiiers and riders. my sugjustion is basically make it more apealing to skiers since we ride noreaster wayyyy more than snowboarders do. the snowboarders usually stay at the pipe, but dont get me wrong, snowboarder mo def still go on noreaster. the point im trying to get at is, make the park more snowboard AND ski oriented.

yea and your rails are fuckn STICKY! cause of that one gay fuckn kid who ALWAYS does broken grinds and makes the rail sticky right after it! AHHH YOU HATE IT JACKOFFF!!

if they just make one good 45 foot table every skier that is complaining will shut up and realize that they have the best park in the east hands down, when its combined with the perfect rails and perfect pipe.
