so many kids on twintips have lost their passes recently

there is no reason for this to be happening

it is absolutely ludicrous
 
just tell them you are taking there pass and they arnt taking yours then ski off while they figure that one out
 
they are seriously being d bags...but my dad is a patroller...hes cool though hes been trying to get them to give them back. no luck though! its wicked shitty.

hm, well im going to okemo this february. whats the deal with this? but then again i snowboard so they couldnt tell the diffrence to easily. still gay though
 
Why not boycott Ski Patrol..... Not the mountain. I'm sure if you went to the head of ski patrol, and explain shit they'll be chill. Just say "Honestly, do i deserve to not ski because i was going backwards?" If they don't give it back, spit in his/her face, and dip. Danny Kass style.
 
i just thought of a good response. ask them why they dont take the passes of snowboarders that are going switch. and just point out one at random since its harder to tell with them
 
wow thats pretty gay, they never used to do that.... i could remember goin down with a freind just racing backwards down mountain road or something easy that we could go fast on.... Im taking a school trip up next sat. dec 16. and i was gonna ride switch to hit some of the rails and shit they got there, but i guess thats not an option due to the fact now that your pass gets pulled.
 
id doubt theyd pull it if your in the park but if your skiing in that funnel area by the sugar shack theyd throw a pile of bullshit at you and say that you should "not be performing freestyle moves outside of the designated areas" or some crap like that.
 
wow thats pretty stupid, i could remember last season i would always ride switch from around the top of the A-B Quad Lifts to the northstar, sachem lift or just down to the base. i dont know what is up their asses this year. mayb they just want their mountain to be safer, because they are a "Family" mountain.
 
i did the same thing its a pile of shit i got some dirty looks from them thanksgiving when i was skiing switch on world cup but they didnt take it.

if this is really happening im gonna lose my pass so fast
 
yea they used to give out warnings last year. now their all assholes. today at okemo i was riding "backwards" as they say and they yelled at me, "HEY HEY HEY! YOU!" i knew they were talking to me but i ignored them and went to the lift and went back up haha. advice to all... when a ski patroller tells you to stop... keep going to the bottom of the mountain and go home or go off the mountain for a good 15 mins... and if they try to stop you tell them your leaving... they cant do shit to you if your off your skis cause you now can give them a swift kick to the balls and run.

last year one of the racer/ mountain ambassadors tried to clip our passes for crossing the race course to get to the park. we all refused and skied away but he somehow unclipped an stole my friends ski and told him he wasnt gonna give it back so my pro proceeded to run as fast as he could and fuckin DECKED that bitch. he completely took him out hahahaha. everybody at the race saw it and the dude was soooo embarassed. his response to being owned was.... "YO MY NAMES DUFFY! MEET ME 3:30! PARKING LOT!" ahahahahahaha. ski patrollers like these are classy eh? saying that shit in front of 4 year old kids... reaaal mature. FUCK THE SKI PATROL

yeah that is soooo whack, Ill be there all winter starting tuesday and had not heard that yet that they are pulling for th e switchness. Two years ago I got a warning and yelled at and shit for skiing switch. I was like Big Bill the ski patrol man - I could ski circles around u switch while u make some nice forward carvers. They love that shit though, acting all official. They grab your pass and then call in your number like they are the fucking police or some shit. I was there last weekend riding, and this one snowboarder I was with who goes to SMS got his pass Okemo/Stratton pass pulled for two weeks for ollieing like 2 inches over a mogul. They pulled his pass, took him down to the mountain, and then proceeded to call SMS - which lead to the kid getting suspended for like a week or something.

Yeah dont boycott, but dont put up with that whack ass shit. Beth's dad is partoller and hes cool as hell. Hopefully they will listen to him and not keep being such dicks!!!
 
why doesn't someone just post in here an email that we can all send to the okemo ski patrol. when they get 100 of them sitting in their mailbox they are gonna know that it is a big issue and switch skiing should be allowed on the mountain as long as its done safely and people arent getting cut off and running into people. So somone just type of an email, and paste it here so we can all send it to them.
 
ya seriosly somone should go up to the head of ski patrol and be like, "I dont see why you guys are pulling the skiers passes when we ride backwards, when a snowboarder can be riding switch and not get his pulled. Riding switch on a snowboard can actually be worse than a skier riding switch. First off you cannot tell if a snowboarder is riding switch, and if he is bad at riding switch it can be more harm than a skier riding backwards that actually knows that they are doing."
 
well funny you say that, i just did talk to the head of ski patrol...

i am not sticking up for their new strictness, because to be honest i'm pissed that they took a pass off of one of the kids that i coach.

BUT, i am sticking up for okemo and i am going to tell everyone the facts, right from the source:

-ski switch ALL YOU WANT, wherever you want. you will not be reprimanded for this unless you are at risk of hitting people. if a patroller tells you that you can't ski switch, come find me and i'll make sure that you don't lose your pass.

-okemo HAS gotten more strict on observing signs, especially no jumping. so, just a tip to those who arent boycotting, don't jump at a no jumping sign or they will take your pass for 2 weeks.

-kish, i hear you got porked and im sorry about that.
 
last weekend, i got my pass taken for 2 weeks.. for popping off a knoll with no one in front of me. The lady who took my pass even vouched that i was in control. I paid attention to the trail, not the signs. I talked to the patrolers at their butt buddy club house, nice folk, but not legit. This is all heinous. There were people training on one ski, cruising, while i was on two and goofing around. I sent an email to Jim Livington. Everyone else should also. Jlivingston@okemo.com

when it was only one trail and really crowded, i could see the reasoning behind pulling, because its jsut dangerous with so many people on the hill. BUT it's also stupid and greedy of okemo to be doing lessons on one trail. the terrain is not easy, so why even bother? at one time i saw 3 groups being instructed, all of them taking up a huge amount of precious real estate on the hill, being way more dangerous. and the courtesy gestapo, which have grown in numbers this year, are probably about the gayest thing i've ever encountered at any resort. other than the dudes who get payed to greet people at the parking lots.

all in all, im not happy at all about this, but i think it will calm down somewhat soon.
 
yea once they get the dew zone, nor easter and blind faith open. they are gonan stop the ticket pulling because they know that all the park skiers are gonna be in the main parks instead of riding backwards down the mountain.
 
jsut dont be reatrded and u wont get ur pass pulled. if u see a shitload of patrols standing on a mound of snow with a no jumping sign on it, dont jump...
 
i was there skiing switch all day today, but not in the crowded areas, they had a nice butter box and decent rail set up, but the sick rails were closed off for most of the day cause they were having a rail jam, the mountain was in pretty decent shape considering that it's the early season
