i was there for opening day on saturday. the new purple paint job for the rails is soo sick. they also got 2-4 inches saturday night and they're blowin on timberline so maybe they'll get that open and put some features up.

this thread is a great idea for those of us who ski okemo. ill be up there basically every weekend too skiin mostly park. i'll be there for most of winter break as well.

you could also check..

A. the okemo snow report

B. Some sort of weather news outlet (NOAA, accuweather, weather.com, TV)

C. The okemo parks page writes EXACTLY what they have up and on what trails

Well yea but wouldn't you rather get it from someones else perspective other than Okemo? I hopin to head up there sometime soon.

i was there yesterday. kinda crazy, u have to ride 3 lifts b4 u cans ski. and then u have to download to get back to the base. not ideal, but it was still mad fun. they had a box a rail and a rainbow rail. kinda sketchy okemo steeze, but not bad considering the weather.

anybody know whats the outlook on nor'easter? im going up the 17th for a while and hoping they'll have some fun stuff up

does anyone know if they will have any park features set up tommorrow? Im trying to go, but i don't wanna drive three hours to be dissapointed.

this is off their facebook page regarding this weekend-
"we will be pushing snow around tomorrow on sapphire to see what we got. We are gonna try for 4 features and a little jump. We are only able to build on Sapphire at this time, so we will see what we can cram onto it."
a little jump!
what trail is sapphire? is that their normal park trail?

Saphire is just a normal blue square and no it's not a normal park trail. They did the same thing last year in the early season

^ yeah the preseason park on sapphire last year was a lot of fun, they did a really good job on it. its a good warm up for the season.

^^on the okemo website it says that they started blowin on noreaster, and with the foot of snow they got hopefully that park will be up and running soooon.

i was there today, it was pretty cold but still really fun. under the summit lift they just had like a small rainblow rail/box setup and a really wide flat box. on saphire they had a pretty big down box, flat rail, small jump, c-box (which was closed off), and a big a-frame rail. I saw them grooming snow on nor'easter and i heard it was guna be open for tommorow, but idk if they are guna have features on it

Glad I found this thread. I ski up at Okemo every year around presidents day weekend, but I'm going up the day after christmas this year so I'm pretty stoked. Maybe I'll see some of you guys there

took 2 runs today it was really cold and icy and not good.

here's what they have

Saphire:

down box

corrugated pipe pole jam type thingy

flat rail

HUGE BOOTER (HUGE)

c box turning left

up down rail

corrugated pipe balance beam thingy

Noreaster

flat down box

down rail

3 monster booters!!!!!!! (absolutely insanely large)

flat box

AMP BUS (best feature ever)

^ yeah it was freezing today, i was up there too. but u forgot about those massive kickers they have set up at the bottom of jackson gore in the mini park.

I was joking when i used the terms monster booters and HUGE BOOTER. that was sarcasm. The jumps are literally 10 - 15 feet MAX. and one of them is literally 5 feet no joke i measured it.

sorry if i got you a little too stoked ^

i went today and their really trying to get shit together... on my last run down saffire they dug up the down box, the flat rail, and the a-frame.....

guessing they want to move them to noreaster because there is so much unused snow there....

they really gotta do something about those jumps in noreaster though.. like.. really?

Q: Describe okemo's parks in one word

A: Pathetic

I took one run today, went down nor'easter, hit the tiny ass jumps, hit the AWESOME SICK NASTY bus, got to the bottom of Northstar, and it was a unanimous decision between my brothers and myself that that was our first and last run of the day. There's no point in continuing to torture oneself by skiing the shittiest park in the world over and over whilst enduring the 30 minute combined lift line + ride.

Q: What is the biggest feature that Okemo has to offer?

A: A 15-foot table in the nor'easter SUPERpark.

Please note the capitalization of the word "super" in superpark. When a mountain claims to have something so super they should back that claim up with "super" features. Okemo fails to do this year after year. It's almost JANUARY and the biggest jump Okemo has is 15 feet?!!?!? Give me a break.

Anybody considering going to Okemo please think again. I urge those people to seek alternative mountain destinations with quality parks (mount snow)

yea the park sucks so far, ive been up this past week and am pissed at the park. they barely have anything set up on nor easter period. i briefly talked to one of the guys who "fix up" the park during the day, asking what the deal was and he said they didnt have enough snow on nor easter yet to set many things up but after these past couple days thats bullshit they defiantly can do a lot better. oh yea and theyre not going to be setting up the truth rail. im waiting for them to set the y rail up, must say that rail is steez. if anyones wondering killingtons park is ehh too. ill be there tomorrow, hit me up

why the hell did okemo take out the wall ride at the end. That bus might be the gayest thing i have ever seen. Stalling at the top of that wallride made that mountain worthwhile every run

Park update: they put a few things up

nor easter

they put a triple segment round rail in, (its got 2 kinks, its a weird "c" rail you could say)

the A frame is after it

then a flat grooved sewer pipe to a down sewer pipe

timberline

a rainbow box

and a small down flat down rail

They Opened a new trail today that is not even on the trail maps its called Broken Arrow Its Got Lots of sick setups in the woods like:Wallrideslog rails Small JumpsIts SO Sick The entrance is where upper arrow meets Mtn Rd

I skied a couple runs today....READ THIS!!!!! do not beleive anybody who says the broken arrow is a good trail, IT IS HORRIBLE. its good for snowboarders only, and its pretty lame. you might as well check it out once i guess, but then never go in again.

However, good news: there blowing snow on lower noreaster so im hoping for at least one big sized jump
