Okemo-stratton

I got the okemo stratton college pass this year. I used to ski stowe and skied killington last year but killington is 40 minutes from my house. Okemo is 5 minutes so I got this one this year. My question is on "powder days" which on the east coast means like 8 inches of fresh... should i make the drive to stratton for better terrain glades ect. than okemo. And if not/so what are good trails with glade like terrain on either, anything compared to killy or stowe?

hey man, i hate to say it, but if stowe and killy are your norms, then you are going to be verry dissapointed with stratton and okemo. there both okay, but mostly flat as hell. i worked at stratton for a year, and i would say go to okemo as much as you can simply because of how fucking crowded stratton is on just about any given day. where are you living that your 5 min from okemo?

well we bought a house in east wallingford... its in the middle of the woods but totally sick, i go to school in boston, the house is like 5 minutes from jackson gore so we figured we would just get that pass instead of making the 40 minute minimum drive to killington and for gas saving purposes as well

understood. ive lived in manchester for 19 years now. have a few friends in walingford actually. i go to GMC just down RT140 from you. i would deffinitly spend the majority of your time at Okemo. less lines, and the people there are alot more chill

aight sweet, I have a friend that goes to GMC hes a sophmore snowboarder Zach Resnikoff i dont know if you know him but we are familar with each other... thanks for the advice, any other opinions or trail suggestions at these places?

hell yea wer more chill :). Ya yo. Okemo, I think, Is better then stratton in most cases, not as crowded, awesome parks, and on "pow" days theres tonsss of shit to ski, jus gotta look for it

i don't know if i'd be so quick to say that okemo's parks are better than strattons. last year stratton's parks got more rave reviews as a whole while okemo's parks in my opinion were not even close to what they claim. i understand that stratton is crowded but all of their main lifts are high speed 6's which moves crowds quickly.

and on pow days i can't say either are good, but go to magic. it should be in your pass so it should be free. magic is as good as your gonna get in southern vermont.

i think its just sunapee, okemo, and stratton... so i know they all suck for pow and i dont ski much park even though im trying to get more into it this year. Looks like im going to okemo but if there is a really sweet pow day, how far is magic?

it's just south of okemo...if you were to drive from okemo to stratton you can see it. i believe it is right on route 11 (someone correct me if i'm wrong)

and yea you are right it is just those three. employees of those places get to ski magic for free though.

okemo mt school is looking for another freeride coach... if u think ur into it, message me...

...its a pretty siCk job...
