Okemo slopestyle

Don't you people realize that the Okemo Series events are for young kids? Who cares what kind of prizes/gear they give out, atleast they give stuff. My buddy won a Loon Rail Jam and all they gave him was a hoodie that says Loon on it. And that was a contest for skiers better than the little kids @ Okemo. Have you never realized that the kids that enter Okemo comps range anywhere from 6-14 years of age... If you wan't dope prizes enter a higher level contest. Or learn to deal with it.
 
dude I dont think anyone ever said the prizes werent cool - Ive won some pretty sweet stuff from them. Loon railjam however - WHACK as hell - all I got was a lame hat that said LOON
 
yeah man both the tanners are too core to care about the prizes, all they care about is proving to themselves that they are better than the rest of the 14 year old kids that enter.

read the post before you respond, nobody is complaining about the prizes, they are saying that tanner hall and tanner rainville are going to enter the contest. why should they?
 
Umm, dude you should read the entire thread before making that statment. Someone did mention how "brutal" the contest was, and someone made a joke about how cool the prizes are. In the past most of the Okemo contests are made fun of b/c they are for kids, the prizes suck, and some people think that the judging is bias. I was just trying clarify a few things. Don't be a hater buddy... Chill out!

And Thall and Tron didn't even make it to Okemo for the last two East Coast Freeskiing Opens. Why in the world would they come to Okemo for a no name slopestyle. Some one needs to slap the kid who started this thread with a wet noodle.
 
I totally agree. It was cool to have an event of that caliber...The first year was the best when there were actually pro's there. Still, it's a money event and damn Freeze/Time Warner (or whoever the corporate sponsors were) for screwing us!

i skied okemo for like 18 years of my life....does that mean i can win and put what i got on eBay? sure hope so, i'm broke
 
are you one of those "bias" judges BL? Why you hating on Okemo events yo? Support the mountain you ski at, why the hell not? And whatever about the judging. The kids that kill it, win. Hands down. That Scott kid @ the slopestyle should have won and he did. He wasn't on the mogul team, or the freeride team. Tell me how that is bias????
 
Yo, Im not hating at all. I will reistate what I said - I should be more clear. Back in the day I felt that the judging was bias. You are right though, the kids that deserve to win it usually do. I am not hating on Okemo, I think its sick that we have those comps for kids
