Okemo Park

okemo's park has gotten better and better in years past. Youve prob seen me and my buds in it all the time. we were the ones in the photo shoot last april. My buddy underflipped the first jump on lower noreaster (the 60 foot table), i 5d it...the rails this year look intense, but i graduated form the gay east coast and moved my ass out here to montana

 
what do they have set up so far this year, I've been to Killy a few times this year, but I was thinking of going to Okemo w/ some of my friends, and yes their park has kicked ass in the past few years

 
today they had a 10 foot flat box, a little 8 foot rail, a trapizoid rail, a 10 foot flat rail,little s-box, swingset box and an icy jump.

 
^ see the problem w/ okemo is everyhting is such a pain in the ass. Walk an hour just get to the lodge, then you have to ride a 10 min lift that brings you to.....the lifts, what do you guys do on a powder day, do you have to ride 3-4 lifts just to get a good run in?

 
Okemo's park has definitely been better in past years, but im waiting to see thepark this year at Killy. If they're really making most of bear mtn into a park, that might be hard to beat.

Heres whats in the park right now:

10 foot box

10 foot double barrel, right on the ground (not fun)

10 foot c box (death to skiers, throws u off in like 2 seconds)

15? foot battleship ( ride on setup 90 onto it, or maybe throw a decent sized lipslide onto it, which i attempted and died)

1 kicker, that seems like its like 30 feet and u need to bomb, also not to much fun

10 foot flat rail (pretty fun actually)

last but not least..... a decent sized swingset rainbow set on like a ride on, so skiers have to 90 onto it.... another not to fun element, ride on's are not the way to go for skiers

But overall it was still fun to get out there and slide some rails, its worth it, get out there

the only way to hit the C box is mad slow n steezy if you have any speed at all it bucks you off, and that kicker is horrible...

^ yeah you def have to go maddd slow.... but its not even worth it cause its so small ur on it for .2 seconds.... and yeah that kicker, was a fucking joke

they have some jumps now open on blind faith

first jump is about 15'

second jump is a ~35' step down(perfect for your early season 3's)

20' box w/ ~6' drop off

10' foot jump

the jumps are well made too, no sketchy landings.

they had the real cbox up last weekend which is about 20 ft. 2 good jumps, 1 shitty step up. 20 ft flat box. thats all the new stuff for last weekend in addition to the stuff mentioned above. I was also at killington on sunday and lets just say i wish i had been at okemo.

umm unless okemo has another c box or im thinking of the wrong one its not nearly 20 feet long, but i could be wrong...ur referring to the one that was red last yr right

damn they took down the make shift park on sapphire the one with the straight box 2 straight rails swingset box battleship rail etc. they have blind faith open though it has 3 table tops and a 20 foot straight box. Its bad but good takeing down the jibs mean they need them somewhere else. aka they will install them in the real park soon then start blowing snow on it. and since snow is expected alot this week with cold temps we can expect a real park open by xmas

 
i was there today they had a small hit then 20ft double barrel down rail to 50ft step down to 10 ft box, to 20ft box with 7ft drop at the end to a lil kicker at the end, shit was def fun today, im prob gonna hit up stratton tomoro tho

yo okemo its pretty good, they got there big c box up and 20 ft flat box now and 3 table tops i will be there on friday the 17 of december, this will be my 4th time this year, its sick

yea im just wondering why they have like 8 or so independant snow guns facing the pipe but dont seam to have turned it one once yet and i know its been cold enuff a few times

I went over the wall last year, my snowboarding friend went over it twice in one day, it was straight to death on the backside but made for some funny videos.

 
yeah man the back of that wall is burly as shit... mad intimidating. looks like your falling off a cliff.. if they built up the back people would feel alot more confident for sure

Okemo will have their pipe open christmas eve thats what they are aiming for at least. They have been blowing snow on it alot lately. the main terrain park should be open pretty soon too around new years is likely.

i went yesterday...they had 3 tables, 21 foot box, 10 foot box, 20-25 foot rail, little 10 ft rail, and a rainbow box....i was a retard and knocked myself out and broke my cheek bone on the last table yesterday....
