yea so im goin up to okemo sunday, anyone know if its legit, which i assume it is, anything sick?

it looks good check okemo.com/parkandpipes under the parks tab they have pics and there was a recent edit on here. hope that helps

the pipe park consists of the pipe, a stair set, log jib, 10 footer, rail, 3 box combo (up,flat, down) to a down rail, to tire jib to wall ride.

Nor Easter consists of 5 rails and boxes at the start then a 3 jump line consisting of 30 footers im pretty sure, then some bigger jumps later like 40 footers i think pretty ligit

the above comment is a vague description of what the park really is.

Lets start with jumps. The Jumps are so bad and there are so many flaws with them that its hard for me to point all of them out but ill give it a shot. First, they are in the WORST part of the trail to position them. I dont know what Okemo groomers (dumbasses) were thinking when they built them on the Steepest part of the trail, the opposite of the ideal jump location. RIGHT after this part of the trail there is a flat section perfect for a good jump line. However, i am certain that if okemo were to construct jumps here, they would surely make them MASSIVE STEP DOWN PEICE OF SHIT JUMPS which they are notorious for.

Dear Okemo,

Get it through your coked out heads that your jumps have always been, and will continue to be TERRIBLE until you hire someone who isnt on crack while they desgin and build jumps. (such as in 2005 for the ECFO)

Lets go back and review the key points of the above statements.

1. Bad positioning

2. Bad shape

I forgot about landings. Landings on jumps need to be Steep and long. OK. now that we've covered jumps lets move onto rails.

Id give okemo a "C" on rails. they're okay, but nothing special. For the most part they are sticky, and slanted. But the worst aspect of okemos rails are the jumps onto them. URBAN style jumps should always be used when the beginning of a rail is slanted downwards. For example, the down rail on top of noreaster has a bigger jump onto it than any actual jump; this is unacceptable. So fix your jumps and the rails will be "B+" material.

Thanks for listening. I hope my opinions, are considered as positive constructive criticism instead as a kid who is just a little bitch. Ive been skiing Okemo for my entire life, as in since i was 2, i am now 17, and i have never seen okemo produce a worse park.

Also, don't call me a bitch, or a complaining whining 4-year-old because i have every right to express my opinion on the quailty of the parks, or lack there of.

Hey Journey, how is it you've been at Okemo since you were 2 when you are claiming Mammoth to be your hometown?...why don't you do us all a favor and go back to the place you think you came from....take your bullshit talk with you! Why ski okemo all the time if they have the worst parks....good one Einstein, that makes total sense.

Besides, Nor'Easter is probably out of your league...down below the big boys park is hot dog hill, a place more suiting for your lack-o-skills. There should be some little kids around for you to talk to, try to impress them with your know-it-all talk....just maybe they will think you are cool. "oh journey, you are my idol, my hero, Mr. Cool...I hope when I grow up I can be a dumbass just like you. Maybe I will go thru life not knowing a damn thing, but pretending I do." I'm sure you will do a fine job inspiring them to whine and complain. Try to have a clue before you speak, it just may make since. You say it's constructive criticism...that usually doesn't mean insulting someone and saying" get it through your coked out heads" Back to school for you buddy, go learn something! Besides remember.....YOUDONTKNOWSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my suggestions are good ones, and if you want to challenge me to whos

better at skiing i can assure you im definetly WAY better than you and

mostly everyone who skis okemo regularly...and if your a park ranger at

okemo you cant make fun of someone for going nowhere in life or

whatever you were saying because you obviously haven't.

and how are 10 foot step downs (PIECES OF SHIT) out of my league? good one you dont even know who i am...your comebacks are really good by the way, you didnt even adress my suggestions which would make the park way better. nice alias too. "youdontknowshit" good one!

journey

chill the fuck out bro

lets put you at the helm of a snowcat and see how you build a jump then say whatever you want about okemo's "lack of park building skills"

its not my job to be at the helm of a snowcat and make jumps, so thats an irrelevant statement. And i was chill until that guy started flipping out for no reason.

this is a great example of the okemo parks attitude. There needs to be a higher level of acountability, all you did in your post was to shit on a kid who didnt like your park, rather than takeing ofense of every suggestion made apon your work you sould accept that you built a bad feature and rather than trying desperatly to rationalize the validity of its quality you should make tangiable pro-active steps towards improve your features. I will leave you with a quote to ponder next time your becoming erect while telling a five year on the lip of a jump to get the fuck out of your way so you can rake off a lip and then have intercourse with the blunt end of your rake. "If you wash with soap you will get clean, if you wash with a squirel you will get bitten."

Much love , your friend Joe

okemo parks have sucked everytime iv been there. everything jouny says is basicly true. at least everytime iv seen there parks. tractors are definitly not easy to use when building parks often the guys who run them are older farmers and other equipment operators whos main jobs are durring the summer. these people dont know what a good jump is or looks like. you need young people who ride in the park everyday and know what to look for in a jump, or a feature. killington is really good this yr by the way. not to jock it but if anyone gets a chance to go over there and check it out. dream maker (main park) has good flow and nice QUALITY setups no hack jobs. halfpipe is hurtten a little though. mostly a shitty loaction for it.

I work in the parks at Okemo. I check NS a few times a week because of the constant up to the minute feedback. Good or bad it's feedback. After building a feature it's cool to see what people think of it/ and how it hits/ what they would do to change it/make it better. We need everyones feedback to continue to progress. (Whether you think we are or not)

Two things to address though:

1. Journey- You bring up alot of valid issues that we have been battling here at Okemo for many years. Placement of jumps and and landings (nothing new) I can give to the run down, of why it's the way it is for now but i don't have an hour to spend typing. Let me know the next time your comming to Okemo and we can meet up and make a run together, like to get some ideas. Until then cool it on the name calling. There are alot of people that put in alot of time and effort in the park and don't deserve that

2. You don't know shit- This person is not a park ranger and as far as i know has nothing to do with Okemo at all. So who ever you are stop being a dick and trying to start a bunch of shit for no reason

Man , nothing changes , bitch bitch bitch ...bitch bitch ... is that all you guys do? Our parks never seems to be good enough for yall , I agree things may need improvement , but that goes for every park anywhere. Different people like different things , some may love a jump and some may hate the jump. I feel it goes like this , if you kill it on a feature you will love it , if you dont kill it you hate it. I worked in the parks for many years and have herd it all. Ive loved a feature while the next guy disliked it. Its all really a matter of opinion and personal success riding the feature. So please if you want to say a feature is lame , leave it at that , dont bad mouth people you dont even know. The park guys work VERY hard (well most of the , I wont name names)to provide yall with something to do. Apreciate it , and make a suggestion , don't just bitch about it , that will get you nowhere, I wouldnt even take into consideration a bitch , a suggestion yes , a bitch NO. And as to the comment about not going anywhere in life if your a park ranger , well I have to disagree , if riding is your passion , then there is no better job in life to have. Its not all about how much you make. Id like to know what you do that makes you so much more successful then a park ranger? Go out there and have fun , quit your bitchin.

i actually think the park is pretty sick rite now. i would change the jump on to the down rail urban tho. other than that i think the park is pretty good

has anyone hit/seen the dfd in noreaster> it's one of the few things they didn't have a pic of on the site. is it the same as the old one? how are the angles?

park looks ill cant wait to go this weekend maybe

hey park rangers.....are you guys gunna set up anything on blind faith this year or is that just gunna lie dormant this year?

just wondering not tryin to give you shit about it like some others might...

just wanted to give you guys some props I was up there today and noreaster was really fun. the dfd was great and the jumps were really fun. I agree with the suggestion to urbanize the dfd but just wanted to let you know I was stoked on the park.

the south face is a good area to ski regardless of park but having a park over there makes it amazing

in the past there have been some decent sized jumps there and a few standard rails which has worked good for me. nothing too difficult, just stuff that you can chill out on, have some fun or learn some new stuff before bringing it to noreaster.

a nice, medium sized fluid park that you can just do lots of quick laps on is ideal over there i think

i was up there last weekend and i thought the parks were pretty danm good. I skiied half the day on northeastern and then the other half i did mogual runs down to the park where the pipe was and i had a great day.

ya id love to see south face going by the end of the season, i liked it alot last season because unlike nor easter i hit all the jumps and most of the rails, it creates some good separation between nor easter and the pipe park a good medium park with some fun features

sunapee is my home mountain, thats a mountain needing inprovement and they take feedback and work on it...so journey forreal be polite and not bad mouth okemo

ive been comin to okemo every year and this year is by far the most fun setup in my opinion. im not hardcore but im not a noob, i can throw down decently. Nor'easter is the shit, jumps are fun and so are rails, everything is friendly and have endless session possibilities. i can safely speak for me and my crew at sunapee that okemo is 100% fun and can only get better no negative feedback from me....

p.s. any chance okemo is looking into a lift serviceing the park? sunapee has one and it makes the wait a WHOLE lot more bareable. the lines at okemo as we all know can get rediculous hahaha. just a thought other than that, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

I have been going to okemo a few times for the past couple years and it has been getting better every year.

They do sorta suck at updating their website though, i am going up saturday and i was wondering if anyone knows what has changed since they put those pictures up on 2.2.08

can anyone help me out???

journey did make suggestions, many of them in fact. yet you didnt adress or seemingly consider any of them. and i can definitely vouch that hes not disgruntled because he isnt "killing it on the features" or however you put it because the kid slays.

i for one enjoy most of your features however the placement of a lot of them does not make sense. like putting the down flat and the long down at the top, steepest part of the trail doesnt make any sense. those rails are among your best rails and are very trickable but the landing for both are either sheer ice or a mogul field because thats where everyone stops to hit the tiny jumps. so by having them there pretty much ruins them.

the park is pretty good past that point, yet when you get to the "big" jumps again the placement ruins them. you hit the first small one and essentially have to stop completely to ditch all your speed in order to hit the second one. because the place where they're at is too steep. Why didn't you guys do what you did last year with building the fun two jump line on the flatter section? Id be so pumped to see two sizeable jumps there. and maybe put the rails on the sides of jumps or lower down (excluding the dog house. thing is a waste of space and snow in my opinion)

just some ideas.

suggestion: change up the park. the last time you changed the set up in a big way was like decemeber. its been the same on lower nroeaster for a LONG TIME. two jumps after workroad, updown, flat down, doghouse, flat rail, jump, my suggestion is to change it becasue its very boring.

Another suggestion: build larger jumps up top and palce them better. Theres no reason not to make larger features considering there is a ton of snow, more than ive ever seen. In regard to the three hotdog hill jump line on upper noreaster, move each jump down, the first jump should be placed where the 3rd jump is right now. But where do we putthe canon and dfd rails? ON the side next to the jumps, like many parks do and liek you used to do like 3 years ago.noreaster is huge trail, theres no reason to have so few features and features spaced out so far inbetween.

I totally agree with changing it up every once in a while. Change is always nice and theres so much potential in nor'easter.

And since okemo doesnt have a park pass, theres mad people in the park - who for lack of a better way to put it - shouldn't be in there. And I mean theres maaad people in there, it doesnt matter if its the weekend or the weekdays, vacation time or not. You're constantly getting snaked, not even just joeys, but skiiers and riders with no respect or knowledge of how the park flows. They all weave in and out of the features and disappear behind rollers only to reappear when you least expect them.

Part of me thinks that this happens because for the most part, once youre past the 40 foot down, the right side of nor'easter is left alone with only a few small features on it, thats why they feel that they come kick it in the park. Maybe not now but next year can we pull the far left features away from the woods and make the park overall more centered in the trail? This not only allows more room for mistakes, but might keep out the power carvers who feel that nor'easter should be shared because theres that late day untouched courdoroy on the right.

Thats just my two cents.
