Okemo and stratton parks?

Stratton has two parks and on their snow report they said they may have another open for next weekend. The first one has a 30ft box and a 15 foot double barrel rail. Then there is a small box and a small trap rail. The other one has three jumps, 8-12 feet, then three rails, a flat box, and an A frame box. Overall it is decent, jumps are small, but fun, and the rails are fun to.

okemo has a flat box, a slanted box, down rail, flat-up-flat bar, tiny rainbow rail, and three pretty small jumps. and a LOT of gapers. they also looked like they had a pretty good sized booter on their normal park trail but i didn't take that run, cause it looked like the jump was all there was.

strattons ok not there best just some small rails under the 6 pack lift with a couple of boxes and rails and there other park has some small jumps and some small rails its fun but nothign amazing

this is what it said on an update on okemos site

"Just giving you guys an update...we blew a bunch of snow on Nor'Easter,

so we're going to be building some features starting in the morning.

You can expect a couple flat boxes, a couple down rails, a three jump

line starting at 20' and getting progressively bigger. So that should

be a good start, and as long as all goes well, that should be ready for

the weekend. Against our will, we will be dimantling the Sapphire park.

Get here before Thursday to get in your last runs there."

I think the three jump line starting at 20' should be changed into one jump that is 60 feet. i also think they should put as many rails as possible on noreaster (closly spaced together, so that you can get as many hits in one run as possible)

They have made a lot of snow on old smoothie and byrnside. They will have a park up on old smoothie for this weekend (weather depending). And the super pipe in the sunbowl will be open in two weeks a long with the park on byrnside (thats what they are aiming for).

i went to okemo last week. i was kinda dissapointed. i always though okemo had a legendary park. i know its early season and all, but still. im glad i paid half price for a ticket.

okemo said they're setting up the amp bus for tomorrow, which is basically a school bus that they turned into a giant jib with a bowl wall ride kinda thing, box on the hood, rails on the bumpers, sounds like it could be really sick.

any info on if stratton set up anything on old smoothie?

that sounds like it'll be sick. its replacing that really sketchy wall they had setup at the bottom right?
i'm gonna try and make it there sunday unless its freezing rain and shitty.

here's some pics of it I found

i hit it a few times. it is like really really vert,. (not like in that diagram where it looks mellow and smooth) say the wall is at 90 degrees to the snow, the ramp up to it is like 45, so its like BOOM impact, its fun to go u over it though, and its also fun to go up the side and slide the top but it hurts to land becasue of the shallow inclined landing. if they smooth out the tranny so its like smooth and de-vert the wall itd be sicker. fo sho.

yup you described it pretty well, with the in run not quite being close enough to 90 degrees, so it was a horrible transition. i felt like the park crew didn't have time to really perfect it, and as a result the see-through wall part was pretty sketchy.
however i did slide the box on the hood a few times which was alright. people were sliding or spinning over the roof which looked pretty dope. i think i'd give the park crew a few days to really figure it out, and it could be pretty fun.
oh and one thing that did annoy me was they had a rope right behind the bus, so gapers wouldn't chill on the landings. however the rope was wayy to close to the box, and i saw a few kids crash into it after sketch landings. they need to move it back.

i wish someone from okemo would read this shit.

Dear somebody

please build at least ONE BIG JUMP. its not too much to ask for a jump over 50 feet. ive waited like 4 years for okemo to get their shit together but they still havent. stop being pussies and build something good. ive been patient, but im done with that. stop being bitches and build something good asap. thanks.

they have their mini-park and little rail garden which was described above, but i talked to some rangers today and they said old smoothie should be up by thursday which should be fun... i hope they set up some good stuff, like a downrail would be nice
my guess is on smoothie they'll have 2 jumps, a downrail and 2 boxes, but thats just a guess

yea once smoothie is up itl be much better its real small now and fun to mess around on but gets old fast...after riding over those huge snow mounds on sunday im gunna say there gunna have it similar to last year...a couple medium size jumps a down rail somewhere and a box of some sort maybe theyll set up more tho cause suntanner is on burnside tho

well, whats goin around is some big storms coming in... and as for stratton, smoothie is opening tomorrow and what i saw was a flat rail, jumps (i think 2 but maybe 3) and a wall ride but that was just this morning... im sure they'll add another 1 or 2 jibs but should be a pretty good week weather/snow wise

i went to okemo last weekend in the cold weather.. i saw them setting up and it looked like they deff hacked the bus placement together. looked pretty sketch. didnt open in time and it was real icy. the jumps there were soo icy and they were the to abrupt and compared nothing to mount snow. but the first flat up flat rail in the smaller park was sliding real nice.

i was at okemo mon and the bus was indeed pretty sketch. They need to set it up much better and work on the transition. There wasn't much on noreaster, just a flat box set up slightly down, an urban up down rail (lol wut?) then 3 step up jumps like 20', but the landings were pretty steep, hard to match the transition.

i went to stratton on tues and it was the same deal with the mini park, but it was so ridiculously cold and icy. I ended up separating my shoulder on the last jump, the landings sucked and I hit a rut. Smoothie looks like it'll be good to go tomorrow, the new snow should help too. Hopefully i'll be back out there this weekend/next week

i skied strattons park for a bit today, and as of now, they have (on smoothie) a 15ft flat rail, 2 jumps decent size, about the size of last years, a hip and a wall ride... it was nice and soft and pretty fun!

woops, i meant 3 jumps, the first one is about 8 feet, the second may be about 15ft, and the 3rd jumps is about 25ft or so, and the hip is pretty fun too!
they just need to set up more rails, and my guess would be byrnside will be up within a week so thats good

I was at stratton and had a fun time with the snow. The park wasn't too bad, the jumps were fun, but it did suck having only one rail. It looks like byrneside will be open soon since they were blowing all day on it, and i think i saw a cat starting to push some stuff around so i think they should have some nice stuff by next week.
