I just wanna see a show of hands who actually wants to play this.

I have kick started it with an opening track, the idea

is that any DJ can come to this thread, check the file out, cut

something in and upload again for the next DJ to play.

The 10 commandments:

1. One track per serve - You can only mix in one track per serve (It can be a mash up if you want)

2.

Backtrack - You can overlay samples or scratches throughout the

mixtape. meaning you can edit previous stuff as well! as long as it

sounds good.

3. Unlimted participation- You can play as many times

as you like in this mixtape, just not 2 serves in a row (otherwise you

will be playing yourself..) make sure though that everybody get's a

chance to play..

4. 'ON DECK' Status - If you want to have a play

all you got to do is make sure no one else is working on the file at

the same time, so 'check the file out' and post the status as ‘ON DECK’

with your name beside it.

5. Instant mixing - Only check the file

out if you intend to work on it instantly – Try and upload the file

within 2-4 hours (plenty of time to cut in one track..)

NOTE: You can have a listen and play around with ideas before you change the status to "ON DECK")

6.

'ON STANDBY' Status - If a file is checked out, you have to wait your

turn... which shouldn't be more then a few hours. If you keep on

missing your turn, maybe post a ‘ON STAND BY’ and ask ‘ON DECK’ user to

let you know when they are done.

7. File Format - Save the file in

uncompressed WAV format, when the file get’s to big to handle we can

start worrying about compression. Update file name and version num

accordingley.

8. Pitch - Keep the original file at '0' pitch when

you mix in yours. There are no tempo restircitions as long as it sounds

good! Post your last BPM when finished.

9. Last track to be played

out entierly - Once you have mixed your track in – play it out till it

finishes so the next Dj can choose when to cut thier track in.

10.

‘Vetoed out’ - If your mix is shit, you can be ‘Vetoed out’ and we all

revert to the previous upload. We all have equal say and equal play to

get this mixtape hot.

and one other thing...

11. Keep in interesting This is freestyle baby, so as long as it sounds good, do whatever you want!
