This season is kind of out of hand with the amount of go pros out on the slopes. While going up the lift i think i saw 10-15 people, must in the same group wearing go pros on their heads. how long do you think this trend will last?

It's good! Hopefully Hero will use the money for some awesome advancement in the next gen of GoPros

what puzzled me last week was the amount of people who were not good at skiing using them. cant be very interesting to watch pov snow plows.

This. some people should be wearing them, others i question why they need it. Unless replaying hitting the lip of a rail set up as a jump over and over thrills them.

its not a trend so much as its a fucking camera. name me a camcorder, digital camera whatever you want (minus contour) that even comes close to the quality and size as the gopro, within the same price range.
Other than the fact that hatters gon hate, what do you have against it? Its too trendy for you? Are you mad at other kids filming with different cameras?
Yes alot of people got them for christmas, its a fantastic gift idea for parents looking for a 300$ present
Finally, excuse my rant, and stop making these stupid threads.

Getting one in February.

I'm stoked, my Dad is in the television production industry, and he wants to make a fire fighting show this summer (also fire fights). So he's going to place a mass order, and I can use one in the off season.

Dont have one but ive seen tons of people just skiing groomers with them. Looks like it would be so boring

i got one for christmas and honestly i feel embarassed to wear it filming myself, im just not that good yet, but its an awesome camera and im stoked to film other shit with it.

Maybe, he pitched the idea, they're interested. It'll all be shot with go pro, various mountings. Maybe even just a mini series or something that will air on CTV. And it's forest fire fighting by the way. I've seen some footage. It's pretty neat stuff.

I hope it happens, I'd be very happy for him.

I HAVE 3 MOTHERFUCKER

but seriously i have the original wrist hero from like 4 years ago, i bought a 1080p this summer, and then my cousin gave my dad a 960p for christmas

i think its cool to take video of myself doing shit but i'm not gonna go post all of the videos on the internet. sure maybe 1 or 2 from my first tests of the camera but i think the big problem with POV footage is that when you re-watch it you know all the cool shit that happened but to other people it's just boring as fuck

a killy all the people who should be wearing one dont and all the people who lap the greens all day long do

I went skiing for the first time of the season yesterday and when i got into the park ... out of a dozen skiers 3 had gopros... i have one myself but didnt try it skiing yet.. i did use it for snorkling in mexico tho and it was nuts...

Gator u should film yourself doing a jump with all three ( one on your wrist, one on your head and one on your chest)

i am looking into getting one. follow up: is it worth spending the extra $120 for the HD Helmet Hero instead of the 960p?

Word. I can't wait for them to come out with the LCD screen add-on so you can actually see where you are filming/shooting.

I don't. I just rock a traditional camcorder, and a minoHD which I can affixiate.

I don't see the big deal about everyone having it, yes it takes away from the "awesomeness" of having a GoPro, but it is a fantastic camera for dirt cheap. That thing shoots way good footage, and is extremely versatile. Hell, MythBusters uses GoPros during their tests.

I think they're great. What's better than seeing what someone else sees while they do something mad steezy. Go on youtube and look up a video.

i have mine, but i also got my GL-2 which i film with and sometimes a DVX but it is usually a GoPro and GL-2

im getting one. 250 dollars for an HD camera that is tiny, easy to use, wide angle, and, oh yeah, waterproof and can mount to just about anything. sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

i hold my camera in front of me in my hand or tie it to my helmet and it works ok.

and no one cares if "here dose not have a GOPRO" haha jk

On the contrary, I find almost all POV footage to be very entertaining. Maybe it's just because watching POV pow edits is about as close as I can get to the real thing here in Minnesota.

i dont have one but i got a nice little camera for christmas that takes crisp 1080p and 720/60fps and my dad is making me a helmet mount and im buying a fisheye lens that has a 180degree fov. SO IM STOKED!

i noticed big time, two things. 1 is that more like family are hooking up theirs young young kids or themselves with them for a new twist on home movies. and 2 is i saw a commercial for GoPro on tv, i live in central MA so idk if anyone else saw it
