The most current theory as to how organic life came about on earth is that all the gases in the atmosphere combined with water provided a wide variety of atoms, and when lighning struck (6 million to one chance) atoms formed into a longer than normal molecule chain. These conditions were replicated in an experiment as early as the 1900's, and when an electrical current passed throgh, a molecule was formed. Given billions of years, and chance occurences, the rudimentary molecules formed into cells, and then the rest is history. Personally, I am an atheist (I've been rejecting religion since my parents started feeding it to me when I was 6), because there simply isn't any evidence. Christianity would not hold up in a court of law, because it's all heresay. Until Jesus comes down on a cloud and tells me that I need to believe in him, I will remain the way I am. I realize I'm ranting, but I also think it's absurd that if you are a good person, and did good deeds all your life, but you didn't sit on your knees and read a book every sunday, you don't get to participate in everlasting happiness.
