happy dayz did support lots of backcountry proggression. there was also some serious proggression on rails, jonny just didnt document all that went on last season.it just seemed like he put in the sickest shots, not skiing. If the skier is doing something sick, it shouldnt matter what the quality of the shot is.

I have yet to see Blunt......my mind better be blown....

 
i personaly dont care how someone wants to ski or dress...if tanner or cr or whoever wants to use their guerilla style no one should give them any shit for it, it their own decision..people may not like it but its not our job to tell them how to ski..i dont like the style at all but who am i to tell tanner hall how to ski and represent him self by what he is throwing and by what he is dressing like

yeah Shane_Mcwannabe made a really good point because only 2 skiers or so use the gorilla steeze and the rest dont, and if you complain over 2 riders having the same style then your an idiot and it can look cool and can look stupid, like some of C.R.'s tricks look stupid with it and others look sick, same thing with Tanner, but dont complain about 2 riders doing gorrila steeze when 15 others in the movie arent doing it

Yeah..I think a few people have already pointed this out, but really stuff like music in segments(i liked happy dayz' soundtrack other than a few songs) is relative to your own taste and really arguing over that isnt getting you anywhere other than on people's 'to assassinate' list.

As for Tanner Hall, although I can't stand his whole gangsta thing I gotta admit he's an amazing skier and if he wants to do gorilla style then let him do it. You don't like it, then don't ski like that.

I thought the shots and riders in happy dayz were really tight and it's one of my fav. ski movies. When everyone says tanner and CR are taking the movement the wrong way, I look at guys like Jon Olsson(my fav. skier) and others and don't see any gorilla style, so i'm just going to assume that what Tanner Hall and CR Johnson decide to do isn't going to change how the rest of us, and all of the OTHER pros, ski.

ok heres the deal ya'll..to whoever made that list of gorrila steezee people and non gorrilla steeze people go watch belanger again please...do me a favor go watch him even in fucking 13 then get back at me with that one. same with easly he has adopted the gorrila steeze too somehat yet he still tweaks his shit out (ill get back to that later) and yet again the other skier. evan raps, show me a movie/year/time period where he DOESNT act gangster please. and also where he skis with excessive gorrila steeze. yes gorrila steezee is this years d-spin, big fucking whoop..its not gonna matter in 2 years...2 years ago the trick was a d-spin 9 the year before that it was a mute 3 or something...now its something liek a 3 or cork 5. see, skiing just keeps chaning so much that you shouldnt be laying down all this bullshit about how you dont like the direction its giong in. i can remember like last year people were complaing about how they dont like the direction skiing is going in because spins are getting too hucked, now it stays at amazingly smooth 5s and now they bitch that its not real skiing. what the fuck is wrong with you people. if it makes you so mad that people are approuching the jump with a relaxed posture to make the jumpy more flowy, the go stand up straight like a dick on 20 viagras and do youre 7s 180 at a time. make sure to stop at every 180 and hten wrestly around the next one though. also make sure that you have youre grabs so tweaked out that you rip youre ski off. mhm...this post could have been better, the ideas are all scattered around the place. but lastly, dont say gorrila steeze is taking away from the skiers individual style when you also say that they cant wear that or cant wear this either. yorue basically saying that they should dress the same way (hint hint FIS) not have 'sloppy' and 'unprofessional' style (hint hint FIS again) and have the grabs tweaked out more (yet again FIS) yet you go take a look at easly and hall in some of their tricks they do tweak their shit, its crazy actually mow much they have control over how much they tweak it out. it just depends on how you feel the trick you want it to look like. which flows into another thing, go look at art for a second, then go look at contemprary art, then go look at the splashy kinda art that htere is..its all diffrernt its all from diff people the basis of it is the same but there are certainly small aspects which set each apart from another, the STYLE of the painting sets it aport, the STYLE of the skier sets him apart, they could be based in the gorrila steeze but yet there are the small differences in it that sets it apartand enough things have been said about the happy dayz movie itself, i myself thoguht it was excellent props to everyone who worked on that one. peace

there shouldnt be little gay names to classify the way someone skis.. its dumb. If it feels better for tanner hall to ski the way he does then why the fuck should any of us give a fuck. Saying gorilla steeze is gay allready points you out as a complete fuckin moron and you should leave this site and join a mogulteam or some shit if you want rules to how you can ski. anyway this whole post is completly useless to everyone and i hope some of you get really sick.

 
alright man, youve gotta be fuckin kidding me. tanner is the only one who skis up to the jumps with that gorilla style or whatever u wanna call it. sure, there are some ppl who do cork 3s the same way, but thats about it. CR still does insane bios and boyds throws the nicest switch rodeos in the business. even raps is still doing his tricks mostly with tweaked out illegals and lui kangs. its not like they all look the same. really, i don't see whats wrong. even so, if someone likes someone else's style, why not go out and try it? if it works out for them, fine. its still not identical to the original. and in my opinion, tanner hall is fuckin sick. he throws everything from corked 3s to flatspins to corked 1080s. his bag of tricks is huge. hes easily one of the best park skiers in the world so who gives a shit if hes trying to make himself stand out by the way he approaches a jump.

and also, if you don't like hip hop, too bad, don't buy any ski movies. i do like punk, but i think rap wokrs better for skiing.

I don't think Tanner looks like a gorilla at all when he skis so the name is retarded. I watch the skiing movies to see sweet tricks. I don't care who does them. Its more impressive when its like a 15 year old but it still doesnt matter. If noone ever copied anybody nothing would get better. I liked Happy Dayz more than other ski movies. That could just be me.

right at the start of this argument one of the basic points seemed to be 'they all dress the same and do all the same tricks in the same way'. Theyre right you know, i rmeber a few years back we were all happy skiing doing our different things, we had moguls, slalom super g or even off piste, the best skiers had huuuge skis and you could choose between neon, one pieces, fur lined coats etc. Then in about 96 or 97 some punk ass kids all started dressing the same in snowbaord clothes and just spending time going off jumps and instaed of working on quad twisters or gettin that kossack down right they wanted to spin and grab their skis and they even labded bacwards!!!!! wtf!!!!! look at skiing now thats all the kids want to do, is spin and land backwards.

Like seriously boys, get over it skiings supposed to be about freedom and expression let people dress and ski how they wanna. And at the end of the day, tanner hall's much better than any of us
