Ok i know this sounds stupid but i need some help

my boyfriend is teaching me to ski this season, and im stoked, but im kinda lost. i have my skis and gear already so im good for that. but i need to talk liek a skier and know what the hell im talking about. like i dont know anything, about tricks, everything involved with skiing pretty much. anyone want to help me out?
