how would anyone on here be able to tell you whether or not you should go? thats your own decision...and nobody thinks you're cool for thinking about competing...anybody can compete...its not some super hard core pro comp...ive seen vids of kids that cant even cleard the tables...if you want to do it, great...good luck to you....but what is posting this shit going to do...really?

I say go for it man, from what I've seen you're pretty damn good and it's the only way you can truly know if you're ready for that kind of competition. The worst thing that can happen is that you will leave the comp no better off than before but at least then you'll know where you stand.

the jumps will be big, the competition will be the best in the world, and it will cost you money to go to vail for the 4+ days u should be there, ur gonna have to work your ass off on everything to even come close to top 40, it will be the toughest comp u have ever entered, good luck

the jumps aren't very big at all, at least in the prelim day where all the 120 kids that signed up compete to try to make it to finals with all the prequalified pros.

last years course was like this:

first a choice of either a 15 foot straight rail, or a staircase with a double kink rail on the left and a double kink box on the right, then over to a choice of a swingset rail or another flat rail about 20 feet long, then to about a 25 foot table, then a choice of either a 15 foot incline rail or the massive up-flat-down-flat-down rail they had, then about a 40 foot table.

then for the day of finals they opened the transfer at the bottom that they used for the nighttime big air, each side of the trasfer was like a 45-50 foot table, but if you transfered either way you had to make it about 60 feet.

the comp is fun as hell as long as the weather is good and the features are setup right

competing is great, if you want to do it go for it.

You will be going against the best, so don't be surprised if you don't place well at all.

If you think it's worth your time and money, do it.

To give you an idea on the competition, my friend had a pretty solid run. He slid the swingset rail, switch rodeo's, and a cork 10 opp. mute. That got him 29th place.

Who cares what anyone on here thinks about you competing, the only one that needs to be confident in your abilities is you, and the only one that you need to prove anything to is yourself. So why bother asking on here when 99% of the replies are gonna be bs to some extent (and I'm not trying to slam everyone opinons on here, but what I mean by this is how many people on here know who you actually are, how well you ski, and if you would have a chance) - are you thinking of doing this to prove something to everyone on here, or to prove something to yourself?

Gallant, ive seen yer shit on SAS, and you know its my guess that there will be kids just like you there, scared shitless and just seeing what they've got. Walk in knowing what your gonna do, and just stay mellow, ride it all through. If anything, you'll come back with a clear idea of what direction you need to take.

serious, sking in whistler for a month in the summer will help you way more with your skiign cause you'll see what people from all around north america is doing and you'll have more time to practice what you see and develop yopur style in the way you want it to be
